Brett McMurphy source: College Football Season is Done

At least we got to see the SEC leadership for the sham it is prior to the cancellation.

You mean that a guy with elephant a-$ avatar can come up with a fairer schedule in 5 minutes at the Chick Fil A drive thru as compared to the weeks it took the SEC office to get on their knees for UGA and LSU...

The liability issue is a big issue, not just for college football, but for all entities. Businesses keep waiting for our impotent Congress to pass some much-needed legislation, but they are too busy trying to make political points with the press (both sides).

What does Mullen have to do with the conversation?

When I first saw the OP, I was trying to be first by referencing that you were the source. I had to get in the Mullen comment as a little dig at you since I did give you a compliment. I didnt want you to get a big head. Ha ha

This is nothing more than sensationalistic hyperbole. If this source doesn’t think that every Power 5 conference is going to “immediately” follow the MAC, then clearly there is no consensus among the P5 as of yet and five separate (yet identical) decisions to shutter the season have not been made.

This is nothing more than one man’s incorrect assumption about the fate of the season.

I don't think it's really saying a decision has been made, just that one decision is by far the most likely one

Anonymous sources have been assuring me for months that everything, college football included, would be canceled by now; forgive me for not buying into the opinion (not fact, of course, since clearly no decision has been reached) of a man who assuredly wouldn’t have guessed that the season would still exist at this point.

You are correct. This falls on Congress not doing anything for liability protection. Until something changes this would be the right decision for all involved. The schools would be totally foolish to put themselves at risk.

I hate to say it but it’s starting to feel a lot like what happened to the NCAA basketball tourney.

100% survival rate for college and professional athletes. I am not even aware of one of them being hospitalized.
There really isn't data that suggest that any of the athletes should worry about getting the virus.

It's also not going away and there isn't even much of a guarantee that playing or not will make much of a difference of whether or not a player gets it!

Most of the players will live their lives! Hang out with their family, girlfriend and friends. That's how many of them have already gotten the virus.

I called it back in May that we wouldn’t have college football and got crucified by some people for saying we wouldn’t. There is just too much risk for the universities and now more kids are getting long term health complications from this virus and some little kids are dying. Thanks China!!!! for ruining 2020 for the whole world and killing college football the whole world owes you a ass kicking.
