Brett McMurphy: Phil Fulmer Sabotaged Coaching Search in Hopes of Becoming AD

True, but he's still just a puppet of Haslam, just like everyone. Haslam operates through other people to disguise his influence and direct public outrage onto other people.

Are you nuts? Fulmer is not in Haslam’s camp. Haslam is the one who essentially fired Fulmer, with Hamilton’s and Currie’s help, back in 2008, and did it in a way that publicly embarrassed Fulmer.

Fulmer ain’t a Haslam guy and if we see Fulmer inserted as AD and if we see Tee Martin get a phone call soon, it’ll mean the Haslam grip on our program is lessening and we’ll have a chance to see a strong Tennessee football and athletic department again.

If not, it’ll be business as usual, Haslam is still in control, and we’re effed.

I called this days ago

Good! We should not settle for the BS Currie and Co. Have tried to shove down our throats. Did Phil make Currie try to hire Schiano?

Currie did a horrible job at this, but he was set up to fail. Haslam runs this University like his own personal fiefdom. That's common knowledge among the fanbase, but needs to be more widely reported nationally. He does a horrendous job running his NFL team, numerous high-level people at his company plead guilty or are on trial for very serious corporate crimes, and he does a horrendous job at running UT. Everything this guy touches turns to s**t.

The only solution to this is for Davenport, DiPietro, etc. to just stop accepting his money. He has no power if his money is not accepted.

I'll be honest i don't know what to believe at this point. I'm not getting out the pitch fork on Fulmer yet though, no way I give Currie that benefit of the doubt over a VFL. Atleast WITHOUT hearing more about this.

I told these fools bringing back Fulmer, in any capacity, was a bad idea.

That would require them to do a level of higher order thinking that they are incapable of. Sad. The problems of bringing back a legendary, but formerly fired, HC with a tangled web of complicated relationships are numerous. Namely, Fulmer was "special advisor" to an AD who played a hand in his firing. Of course, the whole charade is presided over by Overlord Haslam and his massive ego/incompetence.

It pretty simple Currie tried to hire someone poppa Haslam didn't approve.

So you think a gutless yes man grew a pair? I find that highly unlikely. Currie is the guy behind the scenes that got Fulmer canned. You think he's beyond circulating misinformation to make himself look better?

Personally, I don't trust Fulmer at all. It does not shock me at all that Fulmer would go above and beyond to sabotage Currie and the hiring of the next coach.........shameful.
