Vinson needs to start plain and simple. Willingham was beaten all night long by Julio Jones. I think Vinson being the athlete he is would've done a much better job on Julio Jones.

By the way: the way Willingham is getting beat is he any kin to Tyrone?:eek:lol:

Willingham is a great press corner. Physical play is what he's best at.

There isn't a corner on the roster that would be able to play with Jones straight up.

You pick your poison, Willingham is slower but more physical or Vinson who would get demolished playing physical against him.

He doesn't have to play physical all he has to do is run with him and make plays on the ball. His ball skills are alot better than Willingham.

I will say I was getting frustrated with DW but against Jones, it is tough. Can't give a cushion either.

Willingham could have had several holding calls against him.... he can't cover anybody without holding. Vinson should start

This goes back to Phil playing the upper classman and not the better player.

They've been on the roster the same amount of time. Antonio Gaines is the oldest guy on the roster. Haven't seen him getting a lot of PT.

We dont play physical coverage against any receiver so i agree that Vinson should be starting.

Which is crazy? Both have been at the school for the same amount of time. You can clearly see Vinson standout more when he's in the game. Its a no brainer.

We should have done this with our corners:

Vinson follow Julio Jones all over the field.

Rogan follow little Mays

AND Willingham line up on McCoy.

Also bring Morley up. Looks like he's returning punts being lined up that deep.:clapping:

I second the Morley comment.

There was one play where he was playing 15 yards deep and then backpedaling at the snap.

Justin..Most of the time i agree with you but not this one. I'm not saying Vinson is better than Willingham but he is more athletic. Willingham is a 15 yd penalty waiting to happen. Look how many times he got called for pass interference in the UGA game. He never turns to look for the ball all he does is try to face guard. Now granted other than wonderboy himself (Berry) you would be hard pressed to find a DB that could cover Jones. But the way Willingham is playing i would definitely give Vinson another shot. What do we have to lose at this point?

That may be true, but there is little question that Willingham is the cover man that opposing coaches throw towards. Whether that is because we line him up on the stud WR or because of a weakness in his game, I can't tell you, but he is the guy most often with the target on his back.

Willingham gets out of his backpedal to slow, he is also has stiff hips, he doesn't have good closing speed, he doesn't play with good leverage, and his ball skills leave a lot to be desired.

Willingham has been beat all year and bad sometimes...The other thing is he is not very diciplined as this goes back to the late hit out of bounds against UGA late in the second quarter...He is struggling and bad...He reminds me of Teddy "Give Up Big" Gaines...We need FIRE!!!

Willingham can start his own business after this year, making highlight DVD's for other teams, that predominantly feature him making horrible mistakes or being beat badly....

Right, that makes sense. Vinson starts the whole 2nd half of the season last year as a freshman but now doesn't play because he is an underclassmen and because fulmer only plays upper classmen... Give me a break.

Teddy Gaines was one of the fastest guys on the team. Not a good comparison.

As a cover corner it's hard to imagine Vinson's athleticism not being an asset so it makes me wonder. Whether you (whoever that might be) disagree with them the coaches have Willingham in there for some reason that they feel justified about.

Is Vinson that big a liability in run support perhaps? Not claiming this, just wondering.

Vinson was being punished for not getting his stuff together and he's a bad grade from being off the team. You don't let a player be an integral part of your gameplan if you don't know if he's going to be there week to week.

Why do you think Coker never got a bigger part of the gameplan?

I agree with what you're saying. I think he'd be better off as a safety.

He's the worst of the DBs.
