I think they give him a chance to play both ways during the off season into next year

I dont mind him being the other corner beside Berry for the nexy 3-4 years.. with Vinson's size, he could also play safety

he can't tackle worse than the guys we have out there now, but then again, the same could be said for anyone they put out there

he played both ways in prep and from the highlights I saw, he looked pretty darn complete on defense
It might work he certainly has the size and speed to make a good corner. You need be strong too, that part he maybe lacking.

he does need to hit the weights but he's definetely got all the skills to be a good one. He may have been a better fit there all along...it's just that we needed WR's more.

jonathan wade came to knoxville and started off as a reciever and by the end of his career had become a pretty decent corner. he certainly wasn't the best we've ever had, but i'd be glad to have him back right now.

it's a good thing cuz he was going nowhere as a receiver, much like vinson

I think moving vinson to the secondary is a good move.He is struggling at WR.He has lots of speed and our secondary can use it the way their getting burned. If he stays there full time this could be one awesome secondary down the road.

We've got enough possesion recievers already, if his main asset is speed and Ainge can't throw the deep ball yet, then there are plenty of other places we can use speed, go ahead and give him a shot.

Adding Vinson should make it a great secondary now. I mean we've got Hefney, who according to many preseason publications was on their preseason All-America team. Throw in freshman phenom Eric Berry and things should be looking good for us NOW. Too bad things haven't played out like that so far.

if things worked out how I had planned Hefney would actually make tackles, Vinson and O'Neal would be All-SEC receivers, and we'd be in the top 5 by now

Yeah pretty much. Too bad neither Vinson nor O'Neal has really even seen the field, and Hefney hasn't deserved to see it.
