I caught it late but they were talking about all these replacements for head coach. Did I miss something?

not really....somebody just called in and asked them to discuss a list of coaches that would "fit" in with Tennessee when Phil got the ax...and yes...they said CHRIS PETERSEN!!

Does anyone think there may be an announcement this week?

I know their offense is gimmicky but watching the Texas tech game yesterday with Kansas....the only thing that stopped the Red Raiders was the time clock.

That is because 90% of the plays Texas Tech Runs are the same plays The Colts run.

Truly it would make sense, You let all the HC possibilities know that "hey, we are looking so keep your options open" before the season ends.
Phil should announce his retirement this week if he's smart.

No, if he and his agent are shrewd they'll extend it out as long as possible to put the administration on the defensive. The more uncomfortable the situation, the more the negotiated payoff will be for Phil.

Would the TTU offense really work week in and week out in the SEC? The defense in the SEC is alot better than you will find in the Big 12. The offense that Petersen would bring from BSU would be much more effective IMO.

The longer Phil drags it out, the less the fans will thank of him.

If he announces something now, i think fans will be MUCH more appreciative of him than if he drags it out to get his $6 million.

Not sure which way he will go with it though.

At least TT is doing it in a BCS conference.

Both may work though, I have no idea. One way to find out.

I don't see him doing that. He is not that way.

You mean Watson Brown's Tennesse Tech University's offense? Just kidding.

It's a business decision. Fulmer will play the cards he's dealt. If he knows he is gone then he will get the most he can out of it. He knows his popularity is not very high right now anyway, so what does it matter if he drags it out for another few weeks?

I think he can save face with a lot of fans if he does what is best for the University (stepping down and not taking all $6 million).

I hate when people say, "from a reliable source yadda yadda" but, one of the guys we usually talk with while we tailgate, who claims to have a personal relationship with Mike Hamilton, said that Fulmer will step down tomorrow, finish off the rest of the season, will not take any of the buyout but will become the assistant athletic director until he decides to call it quits.

This was before the game, and said it would occur win or lose.

I heard the same thing third hand this evening...

Guess we can all hope like heck it is true.
