interesting read...

We currently have 17 --- 4 and 5 stars in the 2014 cycle.

Kinda eye opening. I know people say not to care about stars, but it is interesting that this year we have more 4/5 star prospects than the last 2 years combined.

I'm kind of glad to see that 2009 close not showing up anymore, because of all the attrition

The two things that really jump out at me about this list are how much against the grain the Ole Miss class from last year was....I still smell a rat.....and Derek Dooley couldn't recruit a pig to a fresh pile of slop.

So the questions are as follows:
A) How Many 4&5 * signed with each team? (answered above)
2) How many 4&5 * remain on the team today?
D) How many wins did the team have over the 4 years? (answered above)

attrition plays a large part in the win totals would be my guess to question 2.

unfortunately attrition happens everywhere.

Alabama had 66 4/5 star players over the last 4 classes. And 11 of them were not on the 2013 roster. Some might think this is due to going to the NFL, but that was only 1 player (Dee Milliner) that made the early jump. The other 10 were just plain attrition.

But Attrition happens most when a new coaching staff is in place.

Interesting set of numbers.

Yeah but so is 23-21 from Oct 19th...I'm not worried about surpassing S Carolina once we get our footing back. Our slide coincided with their hiring Spurrier in '05 and yet we have still held our own with them.

The numbers were interesting not sure where worried fits in.

According to those numbers, Dooley sucked from one end to the other. (no surprise)
And Spurrier does more with what he has than just about anyone (no real surprise there either)

Agree on the impact of attrition being a big factor, but i'd think it would also be interesting if the records only reflected the SEC games. Too much disparity in the out of conf scheduling.

Doubt it changes much but would probably give a "better" picture of the Dooley years and a stronger indictment on the lack of coaching during that time.

I looked up the numbers and not too revealing but here is info on TN:
Tennessee SEC record 7-25 win % 0.219
Tennessee o/a record 21-28 win% 0.429

Again, nothing we didn't already now. Interestingly though UGA was the only team who's win % went up when you go from overall to just SEC record (means they're losing alot of their out of conf games).

And Bama lost to OU which is not even in the top 10 in recruiting over the whole course of the 4 years and lost to Auburn who they have basically out recruited over the last 4 years.

Florida has had 2 really good classes in a row but could win only 4 games.

TAM beat Bama last year and almost beat them again this year and the recruiting numbers were not even close over the 4 year span.
