Because we are not offering or even talking to any top notch coaches at all.

makes no damn sense at all. this stuff isn't rocket science. Find a damn good coach, bring the check books. forget the stadium renovation. we need a coach.

Makes 4.1 a year. Let’s offer 7.5+ Why the hell not. Nothing to lose
x2.......I can't believe he's still there.

1.Stanford will not match or even come close to what UT would pay, they are disgusted at what they pay him now

2. He is noted as saying "Recognize when your skills, talents and labor have economic value, and seek that value."

3. The man has kept the west coast vandy relevant and competing at the highest level year after year.

I’d love to have Shaw. I’m not going to be like all the experts on here and say he will not come, but I don’t think he would

Shaw's a great coach,he's not leaving Stanford...Leach has beaten him the last two years, obviously they were ranked both times.

Shaw and Patterson were my 1a and 1b picks during the last coaching search. I love his brand of football. Tough, physical, and disciplined.

Having said that, he aint leaving Stanford. Like Gundy, he's at his alma mater and having success. Even if we offered him 7 million, Stanford would just match it.

The dude is king of the Bay Area. The weather is fantastic, the ocean is a stone's throw away, he gets ALL of the players with good grades, and he doesn't have to worry a whole lot about being a black guy in a nice car driving in a nice neighborhood.

Isn’t the California ocean cold though?

Dumb..... really dumb.... so dumb it's off the scale of dumb

So should we just march our ass over to NC state or SMU and bring one of those guys back over here? that's the problem. worst they can do is say no. I guarantee if you get a phone call with an offer of 8 million dollars you'd listen. right, dumby?

People need to realize that money is not the main factor here. If it was, the coaching job would have been filled weeks ago. The circus that is UT is what is keeping the best names away from this place. They would rather lose out on the extra million or so and keep their sanity. I' so sick of people acting as if throwing money will make someone want to take this gig.

Why keep going after coaches that are either coaching at their Alma Mater or waiting to get a job at their Alma Mater, and wonder why we keep getting turned down.

Gundy
Shaw
Morris waiting on Texas A&M
Frost waiting on Nebraska
Wont talk to Tee
Wont talk to Kiffin already got fired by his dream job
