My wife and I went to Brazeiros last night for the fourth time, and it's fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Knoxville. Fantastic food, service, everything. I recommend that fans coming in for games this fall and wondering where to eat give it a shot.

I'm wondering how it compares to the Brazilian steakhouses in Atlanta and elsewhere, as I haven't been to any others. Anyone have any opinions on that?

Why Atlanta?

I've been to one in Myrtle Beach, Miami, and DC. Myrtle was my favorite, but Fogo de Chao was pretty good as well.

I love them. I'm a small guy, and I swear I could eat my weight there.

I thought of Atlanta because there was some discussion of those in the Atlanta/Chik-fil-A Bowl Thread here in 2009. I want to try Fogo de Chao next time I'm in Atlanta, but I've heard Brazeiros is just as good and somewhat less expensive.

I was a little disappointed in Fogo. It is somewhat overrated.

Rioz in Myrtle Beach, though, now that's some damn good eating. I've never had as much steak, and the different cuts they have were all wonderful.

While it is a good bit less expensive, the meat at Brazeiros is also a good bit saltier. Fogo has a couple more cuts, too (Brazeiros didn't have ribeye when I went). I don't know if the increase in price is really worth it at Fogo, but judging on taste alone, Fogo beats out Brazeiros. I wouldn't know about the salad bar and other trappings though; I just glut myself on meat when I go.

It's my understanding that the owner worked at Fogo for a number of years. I've also been told they have the same meat distributor as the Fogo in Atlanta.
