I think we can all agree that a guy who is 6'6 and weighs about 200 pounds on a good day will have a hard time going a whole 3-4 years in the SEC..so what should his target weight be?

I would like to see him get up to around 230 come September..and honestly, I'd like to see him at 250 before his career is done here..he's got so much strength even at only 200 pounds..imagine what kind of tank he'd be at 250. He'd fit that Josh Freeman/Ben Roethlisberger type of mold, cause it looks like he definitely has the frame to put on 50 pounds.

There is no way he can get to 230 next year IMO, he is barely 190 I guess.

250 no way. I think is a little much 230-235 would be good he is a pocket passer not a brusier/scrambler,

If he gets to be around Peyton's build then he will be just fine. Peyton is about the same height and 235lbs. I don't think he should get up to Big Ben size which is around 260lbs.

Ain't going to happen. I would like him to bulk up so he will be better suited for a full SEC season, but we don't want to change him as a player. You can't just add on 50 pounds and expect to be the same type of player. With that extra weight he would have to completely change the way he plays.

I'm pretty sure if he put on that much it would not improve his QB game at all. In fact I think it would hurt his game. That being said I'd love it if he could gradually bulk up to about 220 or 225. That would be more reasonable.

You don't need to be a scrambler to weight that much.. it just tends to really help out if a 300 pound d-lineman is trying to drag you down in the pocket. I dunno how many times I've seen Big Ben get away from that. Bray is already pretty solid at doing it, as it's really hard to bring him down, but if you add that extra weight he'd be Big Ben-esque.

Also kinda like McNair, who was 230 at 6'2, though he was a scrambler.

I would say he will be around 215-220 by next september and 230-235 by the time he graduates. It would be very hard to put on 30 lbs of "good" weight in that short of period of time.

all of these players you mention have the ability to move run. bray is not that type of qb he is more of manning/brady type that stays in the pocket and throws laser rocket tds.

230 Would be ideal by his junior/senior season. I'd like to see him make the biggest jump this season though to about 215 to 220. He is just naturally a smaller guy, plus he CAN'T be more than 190 right now.

If he goes to the NFL though, he will want to weigh about 235 to 240 with that 6'7 frame of his.

He simply does not have the bone structure to carry a lot of weight -- and bones themselves are a large percentage of weight. If he gets to 215-220, he's probably about maxed out. He should end up looking about like Pike, the former U of Cinn QB

Bray actually can move/run..I made fun of his 40 yard dash, but he actually has some speed in him and definitely a good bit of power. I know 250 in his college career would be unrealistic to expect..but as a pro I think bulking up like that would make him really hard to stop.

Big Ben isn't the guy who's usually gonna run for 10-15 yard gains..he uses his side and decent enough speed in the pocket to buy time..similar to what Bray tries to accomplish when the pocket collapses on him..he does what he can to get out of the sack.

How big was Peyton in his soph year though? Even the pictures of him directing the band he looks pretty thin.. it's youth I know.. but still....

Bray won't get up to 250. It would be very foolish to even attempt that IMO. Bulking up is one thing, but completely changing a person's image is another. You won't see Andy Reid telling Michael Vick to bulk up to 240 or 250 this off-season because that's not who he is. He isn't that type of player. Likewise you won't hear of Mike Tomlin telling Ben Roethlisberger to slim down to 200 or 215 because he isn't that type of QB. I'm all for Bray bulking up a little for his first full season in the SEC as a starter, but I'm not for him changing who he is as a QB. He is damn good as he is.

Bray does get out of sacks by stepping up in the POCKET not by taking of running Out of it. Look how many times big ben gets hit a game ALOT.

Agreed. He's young, so he could still fill out, but he doesn't have the shoulders or chest to put on 50 pounds. I think Mallett weighs 235-240, and that's the most you can expect from Bray.

210 - 215 next season is enough.... you don't want to put on a ;ot of weight at one time, but gradually build up... top out at 230 - 235
