Bray mentioned the team had been practicing better the last week or so. When asked why that was, he answered by saying, "I don't know. I guess because we wanted to."
This is a problem, and this falls on the coaches. The coaches should demand 100% effort, and if you don't, you don't play!
If you can't coach that way maybe you shouldn't coach! Do you think this crap flies at alabama? I highly doubt it!

There are problems with the coaching. It isn't effort in practice.

Bray is Bray's problem. He beats up on weak competition... plays it cool... then chokes against good competition when the game is on the line.

So it's your assertion that when a 20 yr old answers a reporter's question with a smart ass answer, that it's the coach's fault...

Some of you need to back away from the computer and go get a job...and a life

Lol. If you think kids aren't kids at bama you're as dumb as your post. Tennessee football isn't your life 24/7 & it's not there's either.

Bray actually played pretty good on the road against South Carolina. He hasn't been the problem as of late.

Bray is not as good as hyped up to be.
Terrible attitude. Doesn't like to get hit. Not mobile. Stares down his receiver every play. Can't win when it counts. Can't excel against SEC defenses. Only performs well when he wants to.
Someone please disagree and point out where I am wrong. He's been surrounded by weapons and still manages to underachieve. I'm sorry, I forgot about the stellar D of Troy.
Yeah, he has height and arm strength.. But it takes a lot more than that to excel in the NFL.
He could easily be the 2013 Ryan Leaf of the draft.

If effort in practice isn't a concen, then why do we hear the coaches constantly tell the media that the wide outs impaticular need to learn to run their routes at 100% effort every time like Zach Rogers does. When I hear this along with brays comments, I can't help but question our effort.

and he also posesses more talent and ability in 1 finger than you have in your entire body. That kid has had the chance to do things that many of us just wish we could do, only to be critisized by armchair coaches, such as yourself.

Outside of Alabama when you put up over 30 points on offense every game you should win. Not sure how you assess his attitude unless you actually know him. He hasn't dropped all the passes I've saw. I'm not sure anybody likes getting hit either.

Sure; the players have nothing to do with it.

At some point, the players really do have to "want to". You can't make them "want to". No matter how much the coaches want them to, the players have to decide they will make the commitment.

I'll agree with that, but I believe it starts with coaches creating a demanding culture. I seriously doubt saban lets lack of effort fly. Maybe bray was just being a smart a.

1) Maybe Bray just sucks at answering questions?

2) Bray is a great individual player, but not a great team player and not the kind of winner that leads people to victory when it matters. Not knocking him, stating what the numbers have shown. I hope that changes, but we'll see. Anyway my point in mentioning that is this: Players who play for themselves more than the team will turn it on when threatened with being benched or facing public scrutiny. Players who are naturally driven to win and play for team will never turn it off.

Not saying brays comments are the coaches fault. I'm saying the lack of effort during practice, if any is the coaches fault. Maybe you should back away from your real job and read the op.
