Surprised there isn't a thread on this particular subject, and if there is.....merge if necessary. I couldn't find one. I'm posting this as a separate thread from the "Bray Train' one because this is about this particular game and this particular performance.

Anyway, what did everyone think today? Personally i thought he had some good passes, but also some pretty terrible ones. I was at the game so i'm not sure what they looked like from a TV standpoint. I'm proud to have him as the starter and have all the confidence in the world that he'll blossom into a real good sec qb. But from the stands today, there was definiteley a mix of good and bad.

Keep in mind that i'm not criticizing just for the sake of criticizing and I am more than happy with the result today. Anytime you win 52-14 when you're 2 1/2 point favorites is a good day. I'm merely stating that he had some good and bad passes. Just wanted started this up to possibly get some other thoughts on his performance.

Like you said, he had some really good throws and some that could have been picked off, or he missed some key throws as well.

But you can't expect much more from him, since it was his second career start. OL is getting a little better every week at pass blocking.

We have to get better at running the ball, to help Bray out, also.

Even the stupid throws he made were thrown in a spot where the WRs could make a play.

He was behind WRs a few time on crossing routes.

I really dont think we have a problem running the football, I think they are just opening the playbook up alittle. He can make the throws so let him and run when needed. Poole will make plays and his success thus far in the season is keeping teams honest.

The pass blocking was immensely better in the second half it seemed like. First half, it was awful. Either way, I thought he played pretty well against an SEC defense. He did get lucky on a few throws and on others where the WRs made excellent grabs. At the same time, he threw for more than 300 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTS, which is a great game for anyone.

I feel a lot better after seeing him perform against an SEC school as opposed to a Conference USA school. I think if he can correct things against Vandy, then we have a better chance against Kentucky than I orginally thought.

He has made a world of difference in this team. Getting Stocker and Moore involved in this offense has been huge. This was the kind of win we needed. I feel a lot better about this program than I did after the Oregon, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina games.

dude it's called the IT factor and he has it .

never said he didn't. like i said, i'm not saying he played terrible as a whole today by any means, just that there was mix of good and bad.

He's a freshman.

never said that he wasn't....

just a thread for stating my opinion on his performance today, and welcoming others. nothing more, nothing less.

He got lucky on a few throws, made some great throws while under pressure, took some hard licks, moved in the pocket well at times, and threw some behind receivers......BUT, no one can argue with over 300 yards, 3 touchdowns, and NO INTERCEPTIONS!!!!! Most of all, we got the W.

He looked like a freshman QB making his second start, but he will learn alot from the tape of this game and hopefully get better week after week. Overall, you'd have to give him at least a solid B+ or A- at the least.

Would like to see a little more zip on some of those throws. I know he's got it in him. Anyways, I am so glad that he is starting, he is the future

Throws bad? What quarterback via college or pro's throws it perfect everytime. I think you are being critical on the fact of being critical. Jones missed a pass on outside slant. Hunter missed one on a crossing pattern. It went behind him but if you ever played quarterback, Hunter was to stop in the middle of the zone coverage. He kept on with the crossing pattern. Stocker missed one. Hunter should have held on to the one in south corner near end zone. Its football guys! If you have never played I honestly don't think you should post with criticism. Bray did extremely well. And you know what! Three years from now, as a senior he will make mistakes as well. Are you honestly on message boards to here your self post? I understand its your opinion, but Bray gets an A evaluation on my end.

He was a lot more inaccurate today than he was in the Memphis game but overall he was solid once again. Some of his incompletions were well underthrown or well behind but they still weren't bad misses because he only missed in spots where the defenders couldn't make a play on it.

How about this tho, in the three full halfs of college football that Tyler Bray has played (2nd half at USC, 1st half at Memp, 1st half vs. Miss) he has thrown for 700+ yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception.

Pretty remarkable stuff.

no, i'm not. read my whole post. i'm simply stating (again) that he had some good and bad throws. as a whole he ended up putting up good numbers, but he was bailed out twice by hunter on 2 touchdown passes that could have been easily intercepted. do you disagree with that?

and who said they do? nice try at putting words in my mouth. if you think i'm posting on here just to "hear myself talk" then you're clearly talking out your arse. this thread welcomes others' opinions equally as much as mine.

There's a lot of room for improvement. Kind of was like a gunslinger out there, tossing it around everywhere. Lucky some of them weren't picked. I chalk it up to being a freshmen. After all, this is the second start of his college career. I think he will get better.

Ole Piss abandoned the blitz due to Bray picking them apart.

Yeah I agree but our run BLOCKING does slack a little. Poole is a great running back and explodes through a hole if he gets one. Once this OL gets a little more experience they should develop a little better run game as well
