Anybody else(mainly braves fans) fed up with Dan Kolb(the current Braves closer)? He gave that game away to philly tonight. I say get somebody else in there who can actually get a few saves.

That was pretty brutal. It's hard to blow a lead AND manage to not record an out without anybody even hitting it more than 20 feet!?!?!?!

Don't panic just yet though. Kolb's a proven closer. He'll be OK. It's not like anybody actually hit him hard. I think he's suffering from a lack of work more than anything else.

still.....he's blown two straight saves. not to mention make two good pitching performances(tim hudson)(mike hampton was amazing tonight) go to waste. that throw he tried to make to third base on that bunt was horrible. maybe he just takes some time to warm up. :dunno:

I just keep thinking that any pitcher who was lights out enough to get 35 saves for the Brewers last year can close for anybody.

I would personally like to extend a thank you to Mr. Kolb. Being a Phillies fan, it was a nice ending to watch. So I want to welcome Mr. Kolb to take the mound anytime against the Phil's. It is always a pleasure to watch the Braves blow leads and well just lose period. Here's to you Mr. Kolb!

. . . and the Braves would like to personally thank the Phillies for underachieving and choking down the stretch - EVERY SINGLE YEAR! :p

I will have to agree with your comment on the underachieving part, but please don't lecture me on choking. After all your regular season championships, how many times have the Braves choked in the playoffs. One would think with all those wonderful pitching staffs you've had over the years you would have more than 1 World Series Ring? I will admit though you have the best team in the regular season every year. :dlol:

But, hey we have been subpar since my boy "Nails" left the club to open up car washes in San Diego. Man I miss Dykstra...

It is a little maddening to watch the playoff meltdown that seems to ensue every October . . . but you've got to play in October to have the opportunity to choke in October.

Funny you mentioned Dykstra - I was wondering the other day what the heck that guy was doing now. :D He along with Kruk, Incaviglia, Mitch Williams, Darren Daulton, Curt Schilling etc. probably dealt the Braves one of their most heartbreaking defeats when they won 104 games back in '93 only to get hammered in the NLCS. I really think that was the best Braves team.
