What's With Warren?: Head coach Lane Kiffin seemed frustrated again with receiver Brandon Warren's inability to stay on the practice field. Warren left early on Wednesday.

"Always something," Kiffin said following practice. "Every day there's usually something. I don't know what it was today. He makes a couple of significant plays then he's over on the training table."

Ouch...that's not too encouraging.

Kiffin is trying to push Warren.

He knows he needs a monster year from the kid. I don't know if he gets it or not. But I think we will see some big plays out of him. He seems to have worked pretty hard during the summer on becoming a receiver. With our depth chart we just can't afford to wait for him to adjust to the new position. We need him now. And Kiffin knows that.

I think that is just coach talk in general. This weeks episode of Hard Knocks showed the same reaction with a majority of the coaches about their players. This is the typical reaction the closer any team gets to the season.

Man, I wish I had HBO.

I want to believe that Kiffin is just pushing him hard because he know he needs him to be a big producer this season. I just think it's part of Kiffin being frustrated that all his receivers are contantly getting banged up. For such a big guy, Warren sure does have a lot of nagging little injuries.

Bull.....that has not worked in the past several yrs. Practice..or don't play!

Wow! I hope Warren doesn't start pulling an Iverson on us.

Couldn't agree with you more though. If you aren't willing to put in 110% in practice then you shouldn't be on the field.

i agree that they need to practice to play but i am not there to witness how little he has put in effort in the offseason and in practices. the last thing i want to see is any of the guy's getting hurt just before the season starts because they have been pushed too hard in the summer heat and not being able to play come season. all of these guys are smelling the barn and just want to play some games. maybe i am not reading into the situation as deep as you are. but don't get me wrong i don't want the guy being an iverson either, but until there is more information than what was posted i am not going to jump warren's case. if this was stated a month ago than i might have more cause for concern.

Valid points. However, these guys (although young) are out on their own and lets face it....young adults. I have no problem at all with a coach calling them out if they are not trying.

Everyone was so critical last year of the prior staff not using him as they "should". I think we are seeing the reason he wasn't productive last year

Take his number from him again, make him work harder, I think Kiffin is so hard on him because he sees that the kid has tons of potential

It's time for this kid to grow up.

Your both right IMO. If coach didn't feel that he was going to be a big time player don't you think he would have told him like he did the others who left. It is time for him to step and show everyone that he is what he was said to be!

On a different note, those of you in Knoxville...I have looked over the net and have been able to find a score on the Sullivan South vs. West game. Was there one when the incident happened and have they made any plans on what they will do with the rest of the game?

I know it's just a figure of speech, but "110%" always bugged the crap out of me when my college coaches said it. To the best of my understanding, it's not humanly possible to exceed 100%.

If Warren isn't willing to give 100% at practice and on the field, then NO, he shouldn't play. But let's be honest, nobody can do more than 100% of their maximum effort. It sounds like Kiffin sees big things in this kid and hopes these types of comments will motivate him. Let's hope so...

Uh...no. Jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, none of them would have been productive in that horrible excuse of an offense that we saw last year.

I think the reason he wasn't productive last year was the fact our entire joke of an offense was inept.

We were "claw-ful" all across the board.

I heard on WNML this A.M. that Warren has been able to get separation from Berry about 50% of the time. This is good info...

Was this reported by the always inept Chip Cain?

I have a 90 year old Grandmother that knows more about any sport than he ever will... and she talks about it without that whiney nasal voice of his.
