Last I heard, Bowden wouldn't release Warren and UT/Warren was about to begin the appeals process.

very doubtful he wins the appeal, so if he wants to transfer he'll have to sit out 2 years, instead of 1.

I wish there was a way we could flood FSU/Bowden with e-mails telling him what a complete fraud he is. All his hype about caring for his players is a joke.

I'm right there with you. Just let me know where to sign up. We could call the email blast, "ATTN: All Recruits, Think Bowden Cares for You.....Think Again" and attach Warren's story to it.

Bobby Bowden is a desperate man right now. I don't fault him for his decision. He is trying to save his program.

I realize this is not going to happen, but what happens if a cfb player does what some NFL players have been doing and takes his case directly to the media, causing locker room tension and possibly even publicly criticizing the coach and/or program? I am sure that each team has teach rules about media contacts, but is it an NCAA violation for a kid to do this? Assuming that it is not, and a coach boots a player, thereby breaching the scholarship agreement, is the player required to sit out? Again, I'm not endorsing insubordinate behavior. it's just that this seems to be becoming a pretty common negotiating tactic in the NFL and I wondered how it could translate to unhappy cfb players, if at all.

I could send him an email that says, Slick Rick says, release Brandon Warren. After that cat got to go from Utah to Florida, they BETTER let Warren play at Tennessee next season. His mother still has cancer. Even if they think they got it all she would not be considered cancer free for several years. Hopefully we win this appeal. Can Tennessee start the appeal process before the semester is over? I thought they would have to wait until it's finished.

The guy from Utah graduated and followed the rules set by the NCAA. Completely different situation here.

I understand that, but the rule that allowed him to play at Florida has since been changed back. Warren should be cleared. It is the right thing to do.

From what I hear, NCAA isn't going to let Warren play next year because 1. His mother is in the same condition she was when he left, and 2. He wasn't going to class before he dropped out.

is there anything more pathetic than an 80 year old man willing to sacrifice the welfare of a young man and his family? And even more to the point, is a TE goiong to save his program?

Him going to class has no bearing on the issue. His LOI requires a full year at the school and him leaving, whether he was attending class or not, means he broke his LOI.

I definately met that the NCAA ISN'T going to budge because of these reasons.
