Good luck to him...but IMO he’s going to need to get at least above 160 wherever he goes...I’m amazed a kid that skinny can’t put on at least 10lbs after 2+ years in a D1 S&C program

Who? No offense, but I’m on here daily, watch all games, most multiple times, never heard of this guy.
I hope whoever he is making a good choice for himself.
No interviews please

Gooden had a spot? Now that’s Banks.

No. Tennessee this summer was four over the limit without Banks. They have to get under the limit by August 1. To get to an 85 that includes Banks, they had to lose five scholarship players. Jordan was one. Gooden is a second. Now Davis is a third. They have to lose one more to get under the limit. To have a spot for Banks, they have to lose two more.

If Gooden hadn’t effed up, would he have a scholarship/roster spot? Who would it have come from? The answer is from multiple others that are leaving. Prediction is Solon Page, Ollie Lane, Kingston Harris and Riley Locklear. Others can add to that. You’re acting like someone that will leave slides into Gooden’s spot...no. Embrace linear thinking.

He'll redshirt, and redshirts still count against the 85. The only way a player with an injury doesn't count against the limit is if they suffer a career-ending injury. As of now, Pope plans to return, so he is not being moved to a medical scholarship.
He already redshirted. I think his redshirt was standard and not medically related (could be wrong), the next season was missed due to injury. If so, he’s an unlikely candidate for a 6th year waiver and that would be in effect “career ending” as it applies to college. Similar to Darrin Kirkland. It’s not bound by any future attempts of playing in the NFL.

Just another casaulty of our F'ed up 2017 coaching search. We waited so long to hire a coach that we had to offer guys that (if memory serves correct) did not have a single P5 offer....

I don't blame the kid for trying but the other 60+ P5 coaches appear to be right.
