Stanford a 4 seed looks a little unusual, especially given UNC and Mich St. are 3s...

Stanford lost their best player, have little in the post and are implementing a new offense. I would say these are the factors that weighed in with Charlie Creme to put them in at a 4 seed.

That said, Charlie Creme's predictions and reality are seldom in alignment. About the only thing he gets right are the teams that generally make the tournament and in women's basketball that doesn't involve any seismic shifts from tear to year, so going with the regulars is a pretty safe bet.

I was thinking before the season that if we don't beat Stanford this season we never will again. We are the far better team in talent.

Stanford has beat us with one player the past few years. Chiney has really dominated us.

Stanford recruits elite talent. They have shooters, size (six players are 6-3 or taller--that's 30 fouls to waste on Izzy Harrison), and a talented senior PG in Amber Orrange. Players will emerge on that team. In 2011 many on the message boards thought Massengale gave us an advantage over their guards, and Toni Kokenis torched us for 26. Stanford still has weapons.
