Don't know if anybody here is into hot rods, but Boyd Coddington passed away yesterday at the age of 63.

I loved his show...too bad...although in some of the later show he did looked unhealthy...RIP

he and then his shop definitely produced some top notch cars. I don't mean to talk negatively towards the deceased, but his show only hurt him IMO. I always assumed he was high class all the way, but watching the show it was obvious (no matter what they said) that they definitely cut a few corners here and there. I doubt though that there's a company out there that doesn't cut corners here or there.

^ They all do at some point.

In spite of the fact that I'd call myself as much of a car nut as anybody on this board, I barely ever watch car reality shows. And I've never seen Coddington's. A common thread of all these shows seems to be the fact that they are working with time constraints, for such and such show or what have you. Nobody would take the time to triple-check that everything they did was right, or always opt for the longer more precise way of doing things.

Here's one of my favorites of Boyd's...

The "boydster"
Named the most beautiful car ever made at one point...I remember getting the motor trend magazine that it was featured in and flipping through the pages over and over again...

I love his work, but I never saw the show either. I liked the Cadzilla too. Also liked the Boydster. I didn't realize he was over 60.

Hardly ever watched his show but when I did he was always stressing about time constraints and screw ups. Stress kills!!!!!!!!
