Boycott AK State Game

It's totall stupid for a boycott to take place Saturday. Sure, you can stay home, but the tickets have been sold, the money's there. Didn't anyone see the Marlins game the other night, no one was there, but the attendance was 10,000. Plus, who will see it, only a select few of us order the pay per view games

Not that i think that some actions dont need to be took by the fans, cause something's got to happen. It needs to take place against UGA, USC, etc

For a boycott to have any success, you can't start a couple of weeks prior, and probably not with a main SEC rival.

UL-Lafayette is the best bet imo.

It's on pay-per view? It's not going to make a national impact. Plus, tickets are bought, it's not going to affect the sales for the game. But ULL is better than no boycotts I guess.

Taking a cue from the smelly tree-dwelling hippies in Cal...

Maybe a protest of sort rather than an all-out boycott could also get the message across. I liked the black armband idea, but how about just a black shirt. It can be a Tennessee shirt or whatever else, just a black shirt....no orange.

We are still supporting the team, but showing our distaste for the performance and coaching.

It would be quite a sight to see a half blacked-out Neyland. ASU is black as well, so they will be helping the cause:thumbsup:

As long as games are selling out, the university will not see a problem. Money coming in = all is well.

They don't care about people wearing shirts or carrying signs. You can send all the e-mails and letters you want. Makes zero difference.

If people really want to make a change, they'll quit going to games. That's the only way Tennessee will take notice.

An organized boycott of the UL-Lafayette game is already in the works.

Amen brother.

And as long as seats sell they really do not care what you do.

I know empty stands would probably be effective, but do you guys really think that full stands would make up for a 6 loss season?

I'm going.

My friend Tom will be coming in from Arkansas. Our season tickets are paid for, so whether we go or not...the $$$ is spent.
We're gona set up direct TV on campus, watch games all day and have a good time.
I'm not gona let Fulmer and this pathetic staff ruin my Saturdays.

Jmx
The team should do a good enough job ruining your Saturdays.

Anyone who orders that game either has plenty of disposable income or really needs to examine their priorities.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it belongs in here.

It will be hard for most people to stay away. You spent the money and you like to tailgate.

Why come for the game and enjoy to Vol Walk, and pre-game. Watch the first half and the half-time show. Clap for the team coming out for the second half, and then LEAVE. Go finish tailgating and watch some real football on TV.

My kids love football, but they wouldn't mind leaving early most of the time.

I like the idea of the black shirt, but it is too HOT!

How about plain white shirts. Pretty cheap by the dozen at Walmart. Not the wife-beaters though.

Who would buy this the Arky game? Take your money and donate to a worthy cause.

I had a problem with a local charity, so I gave the money to another of my choice. I then sent a copy of the receipt to the first charity and said
"this was yours in the past -- but not in the future"

Forcast high is only 83 this Saturday, low 62...and kickoff is 7:00pm. I'm wearing black, anybody who wants to join me is welcome on the bandwagon:thumbsup:

I'm trying to look on the bright side too...Basketball and Hockey are just around the corner, two sports we are great at!
