Bowl Projections After Week 2

We aren't making a bowl game. There aren't three teams in the SEC we can beat currently. That may change, but not likely. We may not win an SEC game again this season.

I have liked what I've seen of CJP so far, but if he can't improve on a 4 - 8 (0 - 8 SEC) I would have just as soon held pat last year. No argument I could imagine will convince me he is any better if he has the same results. I think he can win at least 3 Conf games before this season is over.

I have UT at 4-8 right now, missing a bowl. Im as sick of losing as anyone, but that's what my eyes/mind are telling me.
I sure hope you’re wrong but I’m beginning to agree. I’m not very optimistic at this point. I had 7-5 before I saw a play. Now I don’t see us beating any SEC team we play this year.

to me just way to early to talk about a bowl game, but heck, we can still wish and you just never know what's coming down the road...it's gonna be interesting because...WE ARE TENNESSEE...:D

GO VOLS!

Even if we only win 5 games-we will have improved 25% over Jones's 5th year! and we'll get a bowl. There are so many bowls now, 5 wins can get you a bowl-everyone would like to play the VOLS-they just don't like to admit it.

Only two 5 win teams made bowls last year so it's far from a guarantee.

At least 10 5win teams were in the running. There are 128 FBS teams, there are 41 bowls thus 80(two play twice-naty) teams needed to play in bowls, this leave 48. Last year, wasn't the first time, and, it won't be the last. To keep this from happening (ever) less bowls would be in order. IMHO, there are Far Toooo many bowl games, it cheapens the accomplishment(s) of the really good teams and players.
Wiki had this to say regarding the number of bowls and how many non-winning teams have played in bowls:
The number of bowl games have risen steadily, reaching 41 (including the national championship game) by the 2015 bowl season. To fill the 80 available bowl slots, a record 15 teams with non-winning seasons participated in bowl games—including three with a record of 5–7. This situation led directly to the NCAA Division I Council imposing a three-year moratorium on new bowl games in April 2016.[12]

If CJP beats Florida in his first year, regardless of the gators talent level etc, that’s a huge accomplishment around here. Doesn’t matter if he goes 1-7 the rest of the way. The Florida game is his security blanket. Now if he loses to Florida, then he needs to make up for that somewhere down the round with 2-3 other sec wins
