Boutte Betting on Games

Didn't Iowa and Iowa State have quite a few players suspended for this last year?

Not a lot they can do about him betting on college games by this point, but they can make his life hell for placing bets under 21 and using an alias.

The NFL punishment will be the least of his worries. He is facing a felony charge of computer fraud and a misdemeanor charge of gambling prohibited for persons under 21. He used an alias to get around the age requirement for Louisiana. Also, the NCAA prohibits any player from gambling on any sport so they could conceivably make him an ineligible player for all the games he participated in which would in turn force LSU to forfeit any of those wins.

Anybody know when LA legalized sports gambling? Has to be in the past few years doesn't it.

He didn't play much in 21 as he was hurt most of the season. The Tigahs didn't win a whole lot that season anyway did they?

There 2022 wins should be fair game though. 10-11 games last year I believe.

It would only be wins from 2022. Investigators are saying he bet on games while underage from April of 2022 through May of 2023.

He wasn't even smart enough to use an alias. His username was literally his name. Can't get much dumber.

I was wondering when stories like this would start coming out with it being SO EASY to bet on games now.

Easy to bet--plus all the networks, breaking with tradition in their zest for more bucks, of course--have sold out and broadcast
betting sites constantly during game broadcasts and otherwise, and doesn't ESPN even have its own betting site/service now?

It's all rather seedy...and you're simply going to get more and more of this, with friends and hangers-on and others who bet talking to players and coaches, wanting inside info, giving the players and coaches bad ideas....It comes with the sell-out. The bama baseball coach was betting on games and got caught. There was the situation at Iowa--whatever it was.

This is what happens when you basically make Sports Betting Legal everywhere. And believe me, there is a lot of point shaving going on too. ESPN has their own Sports book!! (no conflict of interest??) So good luck with stopping the athletes from betting through their Friends/relatives. Pandora's box is OPEN. So everyone needs to just get over it; it is not going to change. My concern is the game integrity; when you have billions of dollars involved, you Will have Corruption. In conclusion; Pete Rose to the HOF---NOW! OR, Sportswriters, Announcers, Analysts, Support Staff, ect should be barred from betting on games; they have inside info.
