Instead, Jones said his frustration was aimed elsewhere. He didn’t feel UT did a good job calling plays or managing the clock at the end of the half, and he let offensive coordinator Mike DeBord know it. As Jones said, DeBord got an “earful.”

I don't care if it was aimed at Debord or at the Fans Both deserve the same phrase at that point. We are climbing out of the decade of darkness and fans boo up 35-0???? Still not sold he is the 100% long term solution but jeez...boo birds at that game was trashy at best.

I really didn't think that the boos were that loud.

Just about every time a team elects to punt on 4th and short when beyond the 40 yard line or when FGs are attempted on 4th and short boos will emanate from any stadium.

Kicking a field goal there makes absolutely zero sense. It's not like we needed the points. It's not like TT was gonna come back on us. We should have given our offense one more chance to punch it into the endzone. Let these younger players play for goodness sakes. It just seemed awkward and I think Butch knew how it was gonna look.

I booed. It wasn't malicious. But we were so close it seemed a little silly to kick a FG. Going for it wouldn't be the classiest thing but we've had a rough patch and the team and fanbase deserved to hand out a solid beat down. People around us also booed but it was in good fun, no one was actually upset. Except Butch I guess.

If I can hear them on TV.........their loud enough. Recruits hear that stuff too...........enough is enough........boos are just rude and embarrassing. Some of the reactions by fans is proof that you can't fix stupid.

GBO!!

Logic is flawed here, don't kick because you may score and you don't really need to up 35-0....so instead we should have given our young team an opportunity to ....score?

It was loud - I was there. And embarrassed. I immediately thought to myself, "what the heck, people?! We're up 35-0 against TTU. This decision isn't worth a boo."

And simultaneously I was disappointed in the decision. Just go for the 7 because it ain't like we needed the 3. But don't boo that.

Almost as embarrassing as an OT win at home vs Appy St......

I didn't expect him to say it was directed at the boos. Nothing ground breaking here.

Yes, let the team play and let the fans enjoy themselves. The worst case scenario is they don't score which doesn't matter anyway
At least they got the chance to give the effort.

I stand by my statement that the field goal was a meaningless thing that didn't need to happen.

The FG wasn't a horrible decision. Since it was the end of the half, a failed attempt at a TD wouldn't have resulted in an opportunity to pin Tech deep in their own territory. Also, it was good to guarantee a successful result and build Dormady's confidence by engineering the one/two minute drill that resulted in points. Ending the half and that great drive with zero points would have taken the shine off of the effort. Plus, the 6 score lead pretty much finished off Tech for good.

Not taking anything away from Saban but his O.C. & D.C. take him a long, long way in his success.
If/Once bUTch gets the right O.C., bUTch will look like a genious.
Just like any coach whose offensive is poor but he gets a great q.b. who runs that system well, now the coach looks like a genious. Look at the coach that was at Memphis last season, Fuentes.

I'm glad that Butch have him an earful. I really hope that DeBord resigns at the end of the year. Otherwise, I don't know if Butch has the guts to fire his old mentor. Just too stubborn.

It's easy for the TV director to crank up the volume of the boos to make them appear louder than they really were.

I was there too. I've heard much louder boos. It was far from the majority of the crowd like it was when the FG from the 1 yard line was on the chart versus OK last year.

What's stupid about it? Were you wildly jumping up and down and high fiving your friends when Medley came out to kick a 20 yard FG against a very good high school team? You can like a team and not blindly accept every decision the staff makes. Like I said I wasn't upset just didn't agree with the decision. I was there for Wyoming so I know what real boos sound like. This was not close.
