When I watch this team, it takes me back to when I played little league baseball and the game was just so much fun. It was about playing a game with your friends and enjoying the experience. The older I got and the higher the level got, the less fun it became. By high school, it was all about winning and much of the simple joy was pushed out by the seriousness of the competition. It is refreshing to see a successful team play baseball like they are having fun with the game and each other.

I don't think I would encourage it and I don't think V does either. But when it is spontaneous it is fun and that is what this game should be. V said it. He looks like he is 40 and acts like he is 6. These guys have never been here and will never be here again. Every other area of their life will get real after this. Luc just bought a house and has plans for the future so I say enjoy it big boy. What makes this team special is they did not join a team that was bound for Omaha except maybe the freshmen and juco transfers. The rest joined a team that had not been anywhere and they did not expect to be anywhere close to this. The fact that they enjoy the game is why so many people are watching. I bet this weekend there were over 100 people who are not UT fans in anything other than baseball that watched games because of Kirby and this team. The #1 quote "These guys look like they are having so much fun." And multiply that by about 20 guys who did not grow up as UT fans and have converted their friends and family to UT fans, if only in baseball. I know for some of you diehards that is hard to believe but for some of us we are still just UT baseball fans but maybe it will grow on us. I love Heupel and if you let him stay long enough to succeed I might become a UT fan. (You don't want to know who I pull for in football.) Go Vols. Have fun young men.

There is a line that shouldn't be crossed. I don't know where exactly that line is but you will know it when players start getting thrown at. It WILL absolutely happen. I suspect that Gilbert will be the one to cross that line :)

But I'm also willing to be if Gilbert gets thrown at one of two things will happen and 50/50 chance of either.
1. He will laugh all the way to first.
2. He will charge the mound full speed and fight the entire other team.

I would have already thrown at some guys this year on both sides. But college baseball is evolving. No way the left fielder doesn't get thrown at a few years ago when he takes the cap to his dugout rather than give it back and then they wear it the rest of the game.

When players throw at players, then who is crossing the line? Give our players credit. They put on coveralls and go to work when necessary too. Remember, this was Missouri this go around, the program that paid one of its own a tremendous insult by snubbing him during its coaching search a few years ago. The players seemed on a mission, but they have been businesslike in recent outings, too.

Baseball tends to police itself. Football has personal fouls, basketball has technicals, soccer has yellow/red cards...........baseball has beanings. But even beanings have protocols. Aim at the butt. Nothing above the neck.

Rib cage, hurts more.

I actually think the message is more important than the pain. It should never be about hurting someone (unless a dirty play hurt one of ours). Take a little off the fastball, aim at the butt, you only get one chance, and then move on. Message sent. Knock it off.

NNNNNNOOOOOOO. Actually FSU and UGA. Grew up in South Ga and Bobby Bowden came and did our FCA stuff. Fell in love with BB. Coached football in Ga. for years and had several players who went to UGA and did an internship there as a trainer to be able to do our players wrapping. Also wife is UGA grad. People laugh because I have a UT sticker, Vollie Fingers sticker, and UGA national championship sticker on my back window.
