Clay Travis is coming out with another book.

This one on the 2008 season. He started out thinking he was going to cover a SEC Championship year for UT and end watching the worst season in recent memory.

I just heard an interview on the radio with him. They didn't say when the book would come out, but it sounds like May or June.

I have always loved his stuff. He is the guy that wrote "DixieLand Delight" about going to all 12 SEC schools for a home game in one season.

The start of that book had a great story about being a life long Vol fan and how his Grandpa's doctor wouldn't let him watch a UT game live do to a heart condition. Grandpa could only watch taped games, and only if UT won. Clay's grandpa played for the General.

Something to buy your favorite Vol fan -- yourself.

Hamilton and the Tennessee Admin. doubled this book sales in November. Clay should send them some kind of check.

Maybe he can get Kiffin to write a quick forward.

Can we get a quote from Spurrier for the cover?

Clay made an interesting comment. He said he thought that Fulmer was the last of the "Regional" coaches and now all there is are mercenaries.

I'm looking forward to the read.

You have to wonder weither or not it's finished.

Also if the events of the last week are included.

That's probably true, but I don't think that it is necessarily a bad thing. Just different.

They finally have a date. Aug 18. No picture yet though.

If it is anywhere as good as Dixieland Delight, it will be a good read. I will be buying this for sure.

Clay Travis=The Shelby Foote of southern football writers. He's created a cottage industry bemoaning how things were better when the coaches talked as if they had a mouthful of marbles and just left a taping of Hee Haw.

I'm not sure if that is an apt comparison. I have read Travis for the past few years (including Dixie Land Delight) and that is the only comment I can recall him making about the 'regional' coaches. Not to mention I don't believe he said it was a bad thing.

Never heard of him. One of your favorites I see.

Do not plan on running out to buy this one. I'll sit back and wait for others to review.

Based on the parts I've heard Clay talk about, I'll be purchasing a copy. I think it will be a very good read.

This book sounds like it will read like that Warren St. John book, Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer. He followed Bama around for a year. Given, I don't think he had as much access as Travis though. It's been 2 years since I read that book.
