Booger talks down Vols; talks up Gators

On Finebaum show today, Booger says our Oline is worse than last year.
Says that and Dobbs inability to throw with any consistency will keep us from winning East.
He said McElwain is an offensive genius especially with QBs.
Said he is working wonders with Del Rio just like he did with Grier last year.

Unfortunately I agree with him. Did you watch the games?

Wow, a McElwain Dooleyism. That's right up there for a good sound philosophical basis, but let's not call off the season for fear of a coach who has yet to prove he isn't a one hit wonder.

Dooleyism? One hit wonder? Lol, okay. CSU ring a bell? Idk if McElwain went 1-11 year one, with less talent he beat Tennessee making it 11 in a row. This from a team that going into the ’15 season had more questions than answers regarding their starting QB and o-line

Hard to disagree with his comments about the OLine, that is just inexcusable, but at the same time I feel like people just like to ride the hot hand regardless of context because it's easier to make themselves sound smart that way.

I mean, come on, we are now saying that Florida is the favorite and McElwain is an offensive genius based on ONE game against a derailing Kentucky team. Isn't this the same Florida team that people were harshly criticizing last week for their 24-7 win against UMass, when it was 10-7 for about 3 and a half quarters of that game?

Okay, cool. So they come in and put 45 up on a UK team that Southern Miss put 50+ on last week and UT put 52 on last year. I completely agree that Tennessee has a lot of problems that need to be addressed in the coming weeks or we will, once again, get beat by Florida. But to sit here and read people's reaction about how Florida is SO good after one week is laughable at best. Color me unimpressed that the Gators beat a reeling Kentucky that is about to fire their coach.

Super good points. But what if Florida beats UT? What will your assessment be?

I try to avoid the negative and focus on the positive.
But we all know in this region, the game is won in the trenches.
I have a lot of concern that with so much attention being placed on the ol for the last 3 years, that it looks so inept.

Something Daniel Hood said the other day, was like a gut punch to me. He said they were not impressed with Cincinnati's o-line when Butch brought them here.
And he said this dismissively, but it bothered me. And I quote
" but we knew every time they lined up, if they were going to run or pass. Now once they came here, we told them what was going on and they fixed it since."

You had the whole staff, including the head coach, watching the game film? And the student-athletes from your next job, are the ones who told you what was going on? That did nothing to boost my confidence annd that's just being honest.

Other than 1 time where Dobbs threw it, I could call the designed Dobbs runs. Every time we had 2 WR on each side, bunched up, we would run Dobbs.

An assessment of Butch not the game obviously...

That, too, changes based entirely on the outcome of the game. An ugly win would still merit a better assessment than if we looked like we all had envisioned this year, and still lost by 1 point again.

Also, as far as the UK - UF game is concerned, if there was ever a team that has given up in on their coach in order to lose purposely, that Kentucky team is it.

100% Agree. This was supposed to be Butch's and Tennessee's year and he screwed the pooch by retaining DeBord and Mahoney. We need a OL, OC, and QB coach yesterday.

Simply inexcusable.

Fired the better defense coordinator after last season due to all the NEGA-VOL FANS . I would seek help from Phil Fulmer that's where he played
