Woodstock 99 was a mud fest in a down pour of rain and nobody went home. They tore the place apart over 10 dollar water but they stayed.

Today’s world is soft.
Well, most of these events are for trust fund kids pretending to be hippies so are you shocked?

Can you even imagine the mess getting out on a Friday night after the day's activities???

Luckily they never let us in Fri all day. We finally got fed up trying to drive in to set up camp and just parked and walked in...50 ft from the entrance and my wife saw the official cancellation.

Sucky Roo, but glad we didn't get in and settled. Took hours and hours for folks to leave. We got home today and have 2 concerts lined up for tonight. Dispatch, John Butler Trio, G Love and the Special Sauce, and Donovan Frankenreiter are playing b2b2b2b at Asheville Yards and might do Disco Loco later tonight. Saving grace to the weekend!!

That festival ended as a nightmare.

I'll say this - they didn't have cars getting stuck in mud. There were campsites underwater by Fri afternoon. RVs were having to be towed. Throw on today and tmrws rain and you could potentially have 40,000 cars stuck in mud.

A lot of folks were pissed at LiveNation, but being there in person, I don't think it was a terrible decision necessarily. It was coming down hard and had rained leading up.

Coachella.

Bonnaroo is where people go to watch music. I've been to both and it's a 180 degree difference in crowd. People come to Bonnaroo on their last penny oftentimes. Sure there are VIP folks, but that's a small minority. Just people that truly love music.

and the hippies I haven't seen since 2010. Got replaced first by the hipster crowd and now it's more edm folks, but most have a healthy appreciation of a wide range of music. Awesome, really. 20 year olds there for many styles, but then packing out for Stevie Nicks and John Prine.
