Which was the worse call, the clip against Fla. or the one against Mapu. Actually the call against LSU was the worst. It may have cost them the SECW.

Which was the biggest bonehead play when EA passed on 4th down and didn't give the receiver a chance, or the offical a chance to maybe call pas interference. Or was it when the Gator DB intercepted the ball when it's about to hit the turf twenty yards down field. It turned out to be like a short punt for us, and it could have came back to haunt them. Therefore I give the bonehead award to the DB, but It was like a Pop Warner game on that play with the game hanging in the balance.

I haven't seen a good replay of either call and since I was in the stadium, it's hard to say definitively whether or not they were good calls or not. Either way, I think the calls pretty much evened out like they usually do.

It doesn't have to be.

The illegal block penalty was just as weak and had just as much impact.

They have made it basically illegal to touch the QB's helmet. I really dislike this rule. Players have done that for decades and decades. Now its a 15 yd personal foul.

Blocks in the back have been illegal for 20+ years. The replay on ESPN showed a block in the back that took out 2 players.

Oh, please. The replay showed it to be a clean block. Easily. You just do not know what you are talking about. The fact that it took out two guys was happenstance as one fell into the other.

I agree that the hand to the face of Leak was equally weak.

But I am growing weary of people blaming the officiating in this game for the result. Both calls were far enough away from the end of the game that it cannot be said that they changed the result.

The better team won the game.

There was a block in the back in the ESPN replay. Its a different angle then the one shown during the telecast. He knocked 2 players down with it.

I've seen that play called a dozen times in high school. It always gets called. Anytime your blocking someone and they have their back to you its going to get called. Most players learn not to do that in high school.

That call on Mapu, I've seen that 1000 times and never get called a personal foul.

I thought both calls were correct. The block was definetly in the back and mapu hit leak in the head.

my opinion is it doesn't matter whether the calls were right or not. fact is we had -11 yards rushing for the entire game. when was the last time we won a game with negative yards rushing? there is no excuse for that. to think we only lost by one point with that statistic is really amazing.

If your Mapu how do you avoid hitting Leak with your arm?

Your rushing the QB your arm is over your head to try and block his pass. You come in contact with the QB as you rush the QB how do you avoid contact with his helmet?

Why dont they just start giving QB's green jersey's to wear during games?

I did see Mapu's penalty clearly and thought that the flag wasnt in order because it looked incidental and it wasnt flagrant at all. I didnt see the clipping penalty so I have no say for that one. Was it really that close to not being a block in the back?

Uh, not in the sense that it wasn't. As in wasn't a block in the back. VERY weak call, as was the call on Mapu.

Alright. Well i guess there isnt much to argue about here, both teams were robbed a TD. The scored would have remained the same.

i think there were 2 "clips" on the one return. CBS kept showing only one of them. I think the one they didnt show was more of a clip than the one they focused on.

The only one I saw was the one on the number of the jersey they called it on. Can't remember it right now. A second one? Maybe a link or something on it? Guess it doesn't matter much right now. Both teams get a day to rejoice or regret, but tomorrow there is work to be done.

I haven't seen the replay of the Mapu call or seen the wording of the actual rule but I can't imagine the intent of the rule would be to penalize incidental contact to the helmet with a hand.

That's a pretty unfair post LG. I think most here have been very gracious in our loss and admitted that Florida was the better team so be careful not to rub salt.

The officiating was horrible at times, you can admit that. No one knows that effect a call here or a call there could have on a game. We had our chance to win at the end though, so I'm not complaining in the least.

I wasn't trying to rub salt in a wound. I've been on the short end of the stick enough to know what that's like. Guess I just got my back up because some seemed to think that UF didn't deserve the W and that made ma a little mad, I guess.

I agree with you on the point that you had a chance to win it so you really can't be too upset with things. I'm particularly proud of the defense for digging in there and continuing to get after Ainge.

you should be proud. That D was the difference maker.
