Why would Sanders let the clock run down on our own 30 yard line then call a pass play in shotgun formation? Could cost Ainge. Very stupid call. Once I saw them setting up in shotgun, I was thinking what the hell.. they should run the ball!! If we lose Ainge we are screwed!! :banghead:

I seriously doubt that Sanders had much to do with that call. That was a time management deal, so I would bet that it was CPF's call. Either way, it was a freak play.

Our defense HAS to step up.

What in the WORLD are we gonna do without Ainge OR Schaeffer???

It was still a big mistake by E trying to pick it up and do something... LAY DOWN on it! If ND takes their timeout, you can still take a knee on 3rd down, or even punt it away! Don't let a busted play take you out of the game!

while we are talking about play calling, it seems to me that we rarely throw the ball deep - either post or sidelines. Is it defenses we are seeing or just the offensive scheme we play.

:(

Otis, get out the beer... But not the celebratory beer...

Beer of somber reflection.

Of course he did...he's the freakin' offensive coordinator. The announcers even said it was horrible call for all of the nation to hear.

Maybe Sanders called the play, but it was CPF's decision as to whether to throw it or to lay on the ball and run the clock out. Either way, I'm pretty sure none of the coaches had anything to do with the snap being somewhere around Ainge's ankles and screwing up the whole play. Quit trying to pin a freak injury on the coaches.

GAVOL, what do you not get? We are deep in our own territory and the coaches (CPF or Sanders, take your pick) call a run play to run the clock down. The very next play, the very same offensive coaches, call a pass with 5 secs remaining in the half. WHAT would they have accomplished if the pass was caught? Broke a long one? My point is a lot more could go wrong with that play than good. Very, very stupid call by the COACHES!

....and yes I do blame the injury on the coaches. It should never have happened.

I never said that it wasn't strange clock management . . .

I blame this crapfest on the O-line.
Havent been able to block 3 guys between the 5 of them.
So much for respect, we get to take another beating at home, and this one to a lesser team.

I've got to agree with that assessment. I know we've had some injuries, but from not being able to handle the ND pass rush to not being able to get a good snap from the shotgun, the o-line pretty well stunk it up tonight.

What a shame to play defense like that and lose . . . :shakehead:

I didn't think it could happen, but I think this year has surpassed 2002 as far as injuries go. You can go years without losing a starting QB, but we've lost 2 QBs in 2 weeks . . . unbelievable. :dunno:
