Flicka gave you some great advice. The only thing I kind of disagree with is in on how bad he claims the pottable water to be. They have stepped up their game immensely over the past few years and I found it easy to drink when my camel back would run dry in centeroo. That being said, take a ton of water, it's the most important thing. Definitely take canopies for your camp site because its impossible to escape the sun otherwise. The best portable fan out there that is pretty inexpensive is the "O 2 Cool". Pretty sure you can get them at wal-mart.

I remember my second year, we bought a half dozen of those fans. I'd be lying if I told you my tent felt hotter than 70 degrees.

Just got back from Wanee fest in Live Oak Florida. Much better than the Roo IMHO. I've done the Roo 6 times and this was my 3rd Wanee. Great weather....great lineups...smaller crowds....shaded camping...etc.

However, if you're going to the Roo....I agree with the moderation & hydration advice. I've seen it get pretty bad out there first hand and 100 degrees is just a stupid way to party heavy.

My complaint on the Roo is it's turned into a frat party. It used to be as much about the art as the music and you'd see people from 2 to 80 chillin' and having a great time. Families used to actually come enjoy the festival. It is what it is now....

I agree with you completely. I can't tell you how many times I heard "bro" last year.

I try to ignore it and have a good time because it is so close to me, but I agree with you and others on the board: it has changed immensely in the last seven years I've attended.

Maybe I should check out some of these other fests you all speak about. They sound much more relaxed, and definitely more comfortable.

If you want to avoid the bros, avoid the following:

Bonnaroo
Electric Forest
Ultra
Coachella
Hangout
