I hope the family gets some true rallying around each other and every family member that wants to say goodbye can. My dad being terminally ill last year and passing in November that last 2 weeks I talked by his side every single day. And while it was gut wrenching. But sometimes when he couldn't speak him just opening eyes or clinching my hand let me know he was glad I was there. I pray the Bowden all get that same opportunity.

Sorry about your dad, but I'm happy you got to be with him.

The man was, is, and forever will be a legend.
I could listen to his post game and half time interviews all day.
Always a straight shooter and was an ace on the recruiting trail before the term came to light
All things aside the last place you wanted to play was in Doak Campbell on Saturday afternoon In Bowden’s peak
A godly man and a true teacher of the game he will be forever missed and remember.

RIP Coach.

RIP. He made a lasting impact on CFB and, along with Miami, made FL one of, if not the biggest hotbeds of football talent in the US.

Really impressive how he took a school without any football history and turned it into a powerhouse. Those fsu Miami games in the late 80s early 90s were essentially a playoff game every year.

If there were a college football playoff in the 90’s when Bowden and Spurrier were waging these ferocious annual battles, Spurrier or Bowden would have won a natty most of that decade (although I acknowledge Nebraska had some monster squads during the 90’s too).

Bowden edged Spurrier 7-5-1 in career meetings, but Spurrier won the one with the National title on the line, so both fan bases have a lot to brag about.

RIP Coach Bowden, your legacy is immortal.

RIP Coach Bowden. He was a great one! Y’all have already said it perfectly, so I’m not going to try. Thanks for the great memories! God bless.

My first year at GT was also the first year that FSU played in the ACC. Granted, Tech was not much to brag about by that point but the buzz that entire week was for lack of any better term-electric.

Game finally got there and it was insane. By some miracle, GT was up by quite a bit in the early 3rd. I was at UF-UT games in the 90s and the atmosphere and noise at Bobby Dodd at that point was on par. It was like we were watching a miracle before our very eyes.

Well, the score didn't hold. Charlie Ward turned into- well Charlie Ward at that point in the game and FSU won going away.

Funny thing, when it was all over-nobody was mad. Sometimes you just run into a great team and even being in the game is as much as I hate to say it a pleasant surprise. Those FSU teams in the early 90s were indeed great.

Behind it all was Bowden.

RIP coach. You earned my respect in every sense of the word. Not only for the football teams you sent out onto the field but as a man.

Yeah... and I seem to remember somebody else near the end of the decade beating both Florida and Florida State in the same season on their way to an undefeated record.

RIP Bobby Bowden - always liked seeing him usually get the better of Spurrier back in the day. FSU was absolutely nothing when he got there and he turned it into a monster. One of the greatest to ever do it, to be sure.

He was a good coach but a far better man. Tremendous respect for him, the way he build the FSU program, his faith in God. We’re gonna miss you coach.
