Bob Stoops Wants to Coach Again?

I'd take him in a heartbeat. I like CJH, but Stoops is a proven winner and anybody would be lucky to have him. With that said, I'd be shocked if he had any interest in the Tennessee job.

LK and HF are the only "broken" college coaches out there, the only guys we could ever get. We could have either, but can't, cause we are Tennessee and deserve better.

James Franklin was offered $90mil and tuned it down. Our roster and especially our culture need years to rebuild.

Who out there is going to sign up for a 4-5 year program before we’re a threat to challenge for the SEC East?

There is a thread on the Texas forum (Surly Horns) titled "Culture". It's amazing to read that almost half the posters disagree that there is a cultural problem within the Texas athletic program. Personally I hope those people continue to voice that opinion because they are a major factor of the problem. Entitlement is a beautiful thing...to the opponents.

Internet rumors flying around about his possible interest in Southern Cal job.

Hmmm.

Not gonna say anything else!!!!!
Run far, run fast. There are reasons that Stoops "stepped down" at OU and Joe Mixon was just the tip of the iceberg. After the OU president was forced out Bob had nobody to cover his arse.

Something is wrong when your QB of the future was arrested twice and kicked off the team without practicing one time.

Austin is a very strange place.
And it's getting worse. With all of the Californians moving in it is now San Francisco level bad. Many long time residents are now moving out. Crime and homeless is so bad that even whorn students won't venture out to 6th Street at night anymore.

That would be the only job I think he would even remotely entertain right now. He has seemed very content being retired from coaching though. I highly doubt he coaches again.

I want to be careful to not give Horns fans too much credit, but that also means that about half their fans think that there is a cultural problem. That's way more than I would have thought. I went over there too after the Arky loss and there were many comments talking about how they are soft, don't recruit enough good players at the LOS, and "...but we're Texas" not being a great recruiting pitch. Now, granted, the people espousing those opinions were flamed, but folks who thought they are soft and entitled were not few and far between.

The notion of a cultural problem seems to have divided their fanbase, which could be progress in a way. I figured it would be near-unanimous nothing was wrong there.

Rumors were pretty hot for him taking the Florida State job too. It was the same reports we experienced with Gruden. "Stoops was in town and spotted having dinner with alumni in Tallahassee"

Dude, it's not as weird as it sounds. When I lived in Reno, we were inundated with people fleeing the Bay Area because of prices, regulations, etc.

Of course they then began fighting for the same policies locally that had driven up the cost of living, etc in Cali.

Californians are a weird lot. They run out of Cali because of the taxes, cost of living, and a million other factors then immediately start trying to recreate the place wherever they move.

Haven't been to Austin in probably 5 years, but it was getting bad even then.
