If you go back and look at the box scores for Auburn vs. Ole Miss in both games this season, there is a pure blueprint for beating Auburn. In one game, Ole Miss wins by 15 although allowing the Tigers 14-39 from 3. In the second game, Ole Miss wins by 5 and allowed AU to hit 5-20 from 3. Big disparity in 3's attempted by Auburn, but victory in both by the Rebs. Regardless, in both games combined, Ole Miss had nearly 30 more MADE free throws. Hammer the basketball down low.

The question is CAN you force Auburn to not beat you outside? They need to hope that Auburn has a day off from hitting everything they jack up in the air and find a way to force Auburn to try to beat Vols downlow.

One way the Vols can play great defense is by playing great half court offense. Work the ball, use the shot clock up and REBOUND on the offensive side....

Just play Vol basketball. We know what and who we are. Play our game and we win a championship. Play Auburns game and another goal for the season is lost. They've worked too damned hard to squander this opportunity....I hope.

If they are missing 3’s it won’t even be a game today. If they are hitting - I agree with both posts - work ball (but not carelessly chunking it around) and push inside for fouls. And it is our game.

On D just have to keep trying to push them out of rythym - probably by mixing it up.

Auburn is 4-5 on the year when shooting less than 35% from deep

ESPN is garbage. SEC gets stuck with this early slot. Give us that 3 - 3:15 game

Pressure Auburn and hammer the paint.

Ball security - no free points. Pound the paint-take it to the glass - make your FTs. Consistent defense. And about 20 assists this time.

We did hammer it down low, problem is every pass we attempted they either got a hand on it or just outright took it. AU is the best defensive team we have played, and the reason we have so much trouble with them. They always make shots but defense is what buried us!!!

Ball security seems to be our biggest issue when we play them; something in their matchups with us seems to result in them excelling in forcing takeaways.

In the first game, Auburn forced TN to 13 turnovers (11 steals, 2 blocks... and 1 extra block) whereas TN only forced 5 turnovers from Auburn.

Today, Auburn forced TN to 17 total turnovers (14 steals, 3 blocks...and another 3 additional blocks) whereas TN only forced 7 total turnovers from Auburn.

Similarly last year, Auburn force TN to 15 total turnovers when beating the Vols.

It looks like they pretty much did the same thing to Florida, though, forcing the Gators into 19 turnovers to Auburn's 4, forcing 18 turnovers from the Gamecocks, 14 turnovers from Missouri, 19 turnovers by Alabama, 18 turnovers by Mississippi State, and so on...that seems a big part of their regular game plan when they've won.

Yes and they scored a lot of easy buckets off the TO's and a few they stopped and nailed 3's.

Tennessee simply can’t have a team shoot 20+ (total) more shots........ especially with little effort on their part.

If Tennessee is going to be out rebounded they must get to the line more to even up some of the “extra” shots.
