All I can say is that every time I put this album in I am blown away. I bought it the day it came out and this is one of a few that never gets old to me. IMO one of the best cover to cover albums ever made. They were definitely at their prime here. Dont get me wrong, I love Red Hot, Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Freaky Styley, and Mother's Milk....but this one is special. NOSTALGIA WARNING.....OLD DUDE IN HIS 30s LISTENING TO MUSIC FROM HIGH SCHOOL:rock::rock::rock:

I think you mean "Magik," but yeah, great album.
I did just not used to typing it that way. Still though, good all the same. Did Rick Ruben produce that album in a haunted house or something? In need to google that.

By the way, Dude and rpvol....you are my kind of scum as well. When I get out of school come by my tailgate next year for a game or something, have a beer, talk some music, and eat some ribs or something.

One of my all time favs. Makes me think of when I was doing my co-op in DC. I wore it out then.

I used to run to it religiously. The pace changes are nearly perfect for a long run.

I saw the Foo Fighters open for the Chili Peppers in Knoxville in 2000? 2001? Great show.

I was there. I actually thought RHCP weren't really that impressive.
The Foo Fighters definitely put on the better show that night. One thing I will never forget about that show is the lady in the first row who was sitting down. Dave Grohl called her out and stood right in front of her for a song (For all the Cows) just wailing in her face. Funny stuff.

He definitely knows how to work a crowd.

89 or 90 for me at the World's Fair site - Mother's Milk tour. I like their first and second albums best. Can't beat Super Secret Song Inside on Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Mommy? Where's Daddy?

When Reggie Cobb was kicked off the team for smokin' weed, Mother's Milk had been out about a month. I think it was WUTK that used "Knock Me Down" along with the story about Cobb. "If you see me getting mighty, if you see me getting high..."

UPLIFT is a great album. Hell, after reading this thread again I think I might just go and break that one out again. Good times.

I love all the Chili Peppers' stuff, but I guess most of you like their old stuff better? By the Way and Stadium Arcadium are incredible, but just totally different styles of music

Just finished Freaky Styley all the way through for the 1000th time. Man that is some good stuff right there. For those that don't have it, go and get it. Smooth album with some sexy jams. Hollywood should get your soul moving, if not you might be dead.....or need a soulotomy.
