Biggest Liability ... it’s not QB

So, you're saying 4* QBs are middle of the SEC talent. If that's the case, we are in a world of hurt for the next couple of years.
Not sure where you got the impression that star ratings are ironclad. They rated JG as a 4* dual threat QB. Has he EVER looked like a dual threat to you? One of the recruiting sites rated Dobbs a 3* pro-style QB.

The worth of the recruiting sites and rankings is what they say about your overall talent... not in accurately evaluating individual players. They miss too often for that. However they hit often enough that if your roster averages 3.8 stars you can be pretty confident that you have more talent than a roster that averages 3.2 stars.

4TD in two games. Wow blow us away with more awesome stats.
You neverJG boys are running out of things to crap on our QB1 each and every game he plays and wins. You were never right and you're not right on this one either. Moan all you want but not being able to recognize that stat line as quality play by a QB says more about you than it does JG.

Yeah such a great QB that can never get more than 2 TDs a game.

Whew, I can finally rest easy knowing all those 5* players Bama has been getting over the past few years aren’t really 5*s. They are obviously just the luckiest team in the SEC.

1 for 12 on 3rd downs and throwing over or behind the receiver is not the actions of a great QB. He has more playing experience than any other QB in the SEC. He just is not a great QB. We stopped ourselves on 3rd down. SMH
Agree 100%. But, do we win against USC with any of our other QB's? Probably not. JG did manage the game well enough to not lose. Can he win against a team the calibre of UK, AU or TAM if he has to come from behind? That is the issue. I have my doubts.

I really don't understand how our lbs and Slaughter were matching up on Shi over the middle. Bobo must have seen something on film to create those mismatches. We were playing a lot more zone than we usually do.

Shi was running unabated off the ball. No one bumped him, knocked him off his route, or anything to disrupt his timing. Can't let the best receiver just run all over the field and not lay a hand on him.

Anybody? Any of you guys stats/records buffs?

To save excess reading, couple questions regarding JG....

1. Has UT ever had a 3 year starter that never beat Bama, UGA, nor UF(FU!) ???

2. Has UT ever had a 3 year starter with a LOSING record overall (besides JG) ???

These are relevant questions. We are witnessing something that has never happened before ....for a QB to start 3 seasons in a row and be so inept is something not to be taken lightly. Especially with Shrout, Maurer, HB and the bluechip QB we have committed for next season...Yes Folks...JG CAN come back next season due to the virus. 6th year JG...think about that. If we do not have a QB who can beat out JG outright for the starting job, CJP will not make it as our Head Coach.

Worley never beat UGa, UF, or Bama. Matt Simms never beat any of them either. Crompton beat UGa 45-19.

We are 16-18 in games in which JG has played, a few of those losses were when he was playing mop up minutes of games we had already lost, see GA and Bama of last season and some of those wins are from him coming in and saving our ass from losing. The majority of losses came when he was a young QB leading arguably 2 of the worst rosters we ever put on the field in '17 and '18. So I'd say your narrative of him being a loser is false, I'd also predict he has a winning record when it's all said and done.
Worley had a losing record and Crompton finished at 500 with some really talented rosters. Worley is the worst we ever put on the field I always thought, Crompton was a close 2nd in my mind.
