Got to see two teams battling it out for this spot yesterday afternoon.

and it's official, the panthers are w/out a doubt the biggest disappointment in the NFL this year.

they were just plain bad yesterday...

supposed super bowl contender to a likely 6-10 record....

SI jinx still in full effect...just plain pitiful.

who? neither one of these defenses has lived up to hype/expectations/talent level consistently this season.

The Panthers would be good if they could take some of Steve Smith's talent and distribute it to some of the other offensive players.

Well... I was expecting a big drop-off for the Steelers, they were incredibly hot going into the playoff. Their Superbowl run was not indicative at all of the level the Steelers are at. That, and I knew losing guys like Bettis and Randle-El spelled mediocrity.

Who knows... The Vagiants may still make the playoffs. I'd say reaching the NFC Championship Game should have been about the proper aspirations this season.

I still say the Bucs are the biggest disappointment.
why? chris sims at qb? defense is gettng older..they have no real offensive "threat"....they weren't expected to do much, and they haven't.
What about the Steelers??
had they lost to the panthers, they'd have this honor....but again, the steelers weren't necessarily expected to return to the super bowls this season

Redskins.
only to redskins fans...in that division, the 'boys and giants were expected to do better.
You can just about put the Giants in that category, too.
the Giants can still get in to the playoffs.

Those may have been the indicators, but the Bucs had expectations from everywhere to at least compete for the division title. They're still in the running for 2007's number one overall pick.

and the panthers had expectations from everywhere to win the Super Bowl. which is why they are the biggest disappointment.

Yep, just when you think they're going to do something after getting to the playoffs last year, they collapse again. It's getting old..
i tried to tell you in pre season.........but noooooooooo you wouldn't listen........:p

Well, I just figured with them getting to the playoffs last season combined with all the new additions to the team, it would be a cakewalk for the Skins. Nice to get back to reality though.

But hey, they did beat the Saints..

yes they did...and losing Portis was a big loss..and brunell finally got old.

a healthy portis and J. Cambell with some experience...barring total meltdown in the off season, the skins should be ok next year.

I have been impressed with Ladell Betts. Not a bad second option when Portis is healthy.

I'm not a Redskins fan. They've still disappointed and underachieved this year.

As for the Giants, losing 5 out of 6 at any point in the season for a team with that talent on offense is disappointing, considering they were many people's pick to go to the Super Bowl.

i would say the giants have been the bigger disappointment in the NFC East...cause you're right, with who they have on offense, they should be a contender.

the skins, i just never saw it. they're going to finish last in the East, right where i picked 'em.
