deepsouthsports.net: At Alabama, It's No Shirt, No Shoes...No Football

The Alabama athletic department is enacting some new "regulations" for football games this year. Just some highlights

• Tank tops or shirts with the sleeves cut out

• Halter tops and cut-off t-shirts

• Cut-off blue jean shorts

• Jerseys worn into the stadium must be Nike

• Attire with vulgarity or obscene photographs

• Shoes must be worn at all times "

Also

"According to University officials, State Troopers will be stationed at random gate entrances and if they, or the gate workers, suspect you of drinking, you will be asked to take a breathalyzer test. If you blow more than a 0.08%, you will be asked to leave the stadium"

While some of these make sense, forcing only Nike jerseys..and breatalyzers? I'm far from an Alabama fan, but I do feel a little sorry for the fans if these go through.

Well at least this should keep brothers and sisters and cousins off each other in the stadium anyway.

There is already a thread started about this weeks ago.

Sorry, I live in Charlotte, SEC news is a little slow getting out here (just heard about it yesterday) :) Please disregard then.

On a sidenote, I had the opportunity to play lacrosse at Bobby Dodd stadium once and they had a rule that everyone on the field must have their shirts tucked in. For the taller guys our jerseys would not tuck in with our shoulderpads on so they made us wear undershirts and keep those tucked in. It was kind of a pain but it did give me some sense of respect for their field and traditions.

I've never seen LAX players with tucked in shirts.

Lacrosse?! I have two things to say to that.
1. No wonder you don't agree with me about football you like "almost" sports. Do you also like or play soccer?:)
2. Did you ever go to parties with strippers? :)

Didn't see anything about banning people with one tooth. If they ever do that, the stadium will be 3/4 empty and they won't be able to pay Saban's salary - will they?????
