"Capable of handling significant minutes" =/= starter.

I was looking forward to Lopez getting more playing time this year, and I know he must be crushed by the injury, but geeze Louise, learn how to read.

One of my kids played NCAA sports but was displaced as starter, and as much as it hurt, I could see why. (Still handled badly by the coach, IMO, and thumbs up to CDT for the public praise.) I'm one of those oldies who thinks that everyone on the team has the potential to make important contributions, but I still know that some players are more valuable/ more productive/ more important than others.
