Big huge big monster recruiting weekend goin on right now ...

wait. I thought we had assembled the best recruiters in the SEC on this staff. Last year they didn't have time but this year was supposed to be top 5 as I recall. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow but I think we're really close to being able to call CJP a lame duck.
AAAANNDD this is why we have so much trouble finding a good coach. One season has passed and not even a full recruiting cycle and you’re already calling CJP a lame duck. Looks like you have already made up your mind. If the class isn’t good you’ll call yourself a profit, if the class is better than expected you’ll be right back to being proud to be a VOL fan. Dude, either support the coach and the staff or dont. Don’t hide behind vague statements about your predetermined disappointment to cover up for the fact that you really care as much as the rest of us.

He was a reach hire to begin with. Supposedly he's an ace recruiter. We didn't get to see his skills last year because he wanted to collect his $234,000 bonus for coaching Bama in the playoffs instead of giving us 27/7 and our AD was dumb enough to make that deal. Now we've had a cycle and it's not looking so great. I don't think this guy is going to be able to get the talent to meet the demands of this fanbase. Dooley 2.0.

LOL so your really pissed because he coached Bama in the playoffs. Only this fanbase would say a top fifteen class during early signing is not looking so great. Think the good lord that you have zero input with the University when it comes to coaching hires. Unfortunately, your gonna have a few more rough years because he ain't goin nowhere soon.

I don't really get pissed about Vols football anymore. I am amused by observing the contortions of reason and logic that some people will put themselves through to try and convince themselves and others that shite don't stink. My guess is he's gone end of 2020 season, maybe 2021 if Fulmer wants to go down with the ship. The OL is not going to be ready to make a big jump forward until 2020 although we may get 6 wins next year just because the OOC schedule is weak. We will have to have a loaded class of elite offensive playmakers who are ready to start as freshmen or else that brick wall of an OL they're trying to build won't mean squat. I just don't see this staff recruiting offensive talent at that level, if it's even possible. Two more years of sucking and half empty Neyland is not going to fly. Checkmate. Let's focus on who we're gonna get next and not rubberneck the train wreck.

Stupid, post is stupid

Maybe stupid but factual based on what's happened so far and the $234,000 bonus is most definitely real. Have a great evening folks. I'm going to eat a cookie, brush my teeth and see if the missus is feeling frisky.

Maybe not, but he should at least get the opportunity to prove that he can or cant before we pass judgement. I am not saying that if he is a bust we should keep him, but we have to see if he can develope talent. And TBH, a top 20 class after a more than disappointing season is a good starting point. This is not a going to be a lights out class, but even the best recruiters cant talk many 4 and 5 star recruits into coming to a team that has been on the low end of a weak SEC East for years now.

I would say that overall today’s early signing period was good but not great. There is the potential for it to improve if a handful of others commit. If CJP is going to get UT near the top again it is going to take several great classes in a row. We are not there yet
