So Cal already had 5 commits for 2009 and all five are in the top 100. I'm hoping the bush volation thing hits them hard just to level the playing field.

It's easy for SoCal to recruit because they are in LA and are winning a lot of games and offer early playing time every year. I think Fulmer might start playing the better player rather the the oldest. Look at what last year did.

thought this was interesting from Loser w/ Socks

LWS has an interesting, informative chart. It shows the average

rankings for the past 5 years.

1. USC 1.6
2.Fla 5.2
3.Ga. 6.8
4.LSU 7.6
Okla 7.6
6.Miami 9.6
FSU 9.6
8.Mich 10.6
9.Tex 11.0
10Tenn 11.8

4th in the SEC over the past 5 years.

The only school on this list with less instate talent than UT is OU... and they have long standing pipelines into Texas.

Four of the 5 are from within 50 miles of USC. The other one is from Fresno.

I have to wonder how UT would be doing if 13 of the Rivals 100 were from Tn instead of ONE.... and 9 of those 13 were from less than 100 miles from K'ville.

Yes... but alot more worrisome for our Cal and other Pac10 friends. It actually has a little of an indirect benefit for UT since the Vols play UCLA these next two years. Better to play them without those guys than with them.

It has to be the most disappointing though for schools like ASU, UW, and Az that would like to make their move. All of those coaches have fan bases that aren't prone to extraordinary patience.

So now we have to worry about 2009, why don't you relax a little?? You seem to spend alot of time worrying about what 18 year old high school students are going to do. I have better things to do with my life....::hmm:

Can't help that we're in the most competitive conference. If we were in the MAC we would have the highest class.

 what does that have to do with anything? try to keep up. perhaps the most inane response I have ever read short of Teddyhead.

and being the 4th team in recruiting rankings always translates on to the field just like that. That is why we have "waxed" UGA the last 2 years.

and that translated into how many BCS Bowls or championships? Sure seems like UGA was in a BCS bowl this year or did I imagine that? And UF has won a SEC and NC, what have we won? The Outback Bowl, whooooooo whoooooo!!!! Big win for us, esp considering about 10 people saw it. Love those 9am New Years day games.

perhaps you should recruit a brain. We have the 11th in the nation, 4th in the SEC. 11 overall would be tops for alotta conferences

If we were in the TSSAA we'd finish 2nd in recruiting to Brentwood Academy. Again, how does "If we were in the ______ conf" arguement work again?
