So got to be honest here. I'm not one of the "regular" folks that post in the basketball forum...I was raised on football and that's my game. However, being a Vols fan I have always taken an interest in both the Men's and Ladies teams. Been a Vols fan going on 4 decades.

Now perspective...I can recall a day and time when you come me into this forum a couple of weeks BEFORE the end of the regular season and all the talk was about what coach we need, how do you recruit to Tennessee, can.we.stimg enough wins next year to even sniff an invite to the NCAAT, etc.

Now look at us today, one day removed from a stinging loss in that tournament, and the talk is how do.we.convince the guys we have to stay, who can coach bring in to help, who is in the reserve to make an impact...real optimistic stuff about the program.

Guess what I'm saying is stay positive, don't become apathetic, and keep your perspective...GO VOLS!!!

We were able to enjoy 27 victories, 2 against Kentucky, took home the SEC tournament trophy for the first time since 1979, won the first round NCAA game in highly entertaining fashion, and every single player on the team is a likeable young man. The season by my standards was a resounding success.

To the Kentucky fans, their season is always a failure without a final four. Once again, they will wallow in misery until next year.

I might be more bummed out that Chandler is leaving than not making it to the 9th Sweet 16. This team lacked experienced inside size. Chandler leaving is probably the difference in being in the top 10 in every week’s poll in 2022-23 and drifting in and out of the top 25. TN might even struggle to crack the top 25… but every other good team loses great players as well. Earning an NCAAT bid can’t be assumed.

It might be a while before TN is ranked again in every week of the season.
