Petrino fired the DC. Not enough time to make wholesale changes. Should add more confusion to an already bad defense.

While I have no respect for Petrino's moral turpitude... I have immense respect for his ability to scheme an offense against our Defense....ESPECIALLY with two weeks to do it. I know lots are having fun at BP's expense and feeling confident ....BUT...if you think he won't have this O fired up and ready to go (he is an absolute OCDer for details)...you'll prob be disappointed. The QB Green is the real deal, extremely athletic, big and fast. We have not really played a QB who has many plays designed for him to run during the course of a game. Throw in RPO's....and it could be a long day chasing him. I, too, think because of their defense (NOT THEIR OFFENSE MIND YOU) hopefully we can score at will. Throw out Saturday against ND (the team actually quit on Sam) Arkansas is 2 turnovers away from being 4-1 like us.... I hope I'm wrong and we stop their offense....but buckle up guys...Oct 11 will DEFINITELY be a challenge IMO. I'll be there but rather nervous until we establish some dominance.

The offense will have some new life and they've played in Oxford, but Oxford doesn't hold a candle to Neyland. They're 0-2 on the road so far and that includes Memphis. There will be wrinkles we haven't seen on offense for sure but There's also hopefully going to be a hobbs and McCoy sized hole filled by then as well.

People are also dismissing the fact that turmoil also negatively affects players and coaches. There might be a lot of players that loved SP and hate BP, so assuming the team will spark is not factual. There’s just as much chance they flop badly because of waiting two weeks to play as there is anything else.

It’s funny hearing all the doom and gloomers BVS for NO legitimate reason!

Watched some of the replay of that game and it was pretty obvious their defense (and a lot of the offense) was mailing it in. Noticed a lot of players literally jogging in pursuit. They’ll naturally have a little more fire for a new coach (although Harley Petrino isn’t actually “new”) but that will last about a quarter unless UT gives them a reason to stay excited. But at the end of the day, the talent isn’t getting any better in 10 days.
