If we lose our right to privacy, then the terrorists have already won...Bin Laudin probably laughs his ass off everytime he thinks about all the crap people have to go through just to get on a plane these days. Traveling is no longer fun.....:no::no:
until you forget that cologne in your carry-on, that's where the painless ends, esp if it was Deauville Pour Homme
Once you understand the process and follow directions, it is quick and painless. I flew to Chicago last weekend for the Cubs series and had zero problems at MEM nor ORD. Soon after 9/11 it was a cluster, but most US airports have the process down pretty good.
I travel at least twice a month. I have had no problems with security in over a year.
The last time my wife and I flew out of the Atlanta airport we waited in the check-in line for 5 hours. We missed our flight. Really, we got in line at noon, and missed our 5 pm flight. Do you think Delta offered to put us up for the night?, oh hell no. I made a promise to myself that day. .....Avoid both the Atlanta airport and Delta like the plague. Been successful so far...
I have had one problem with International Travel, and will avoid it like the plague from now on, in Canada's case.
The wife and I were travelling home to Connecticut from my family reunion in Michigan, and were "Randomly Selected" for an inspection. No biggy, i thought, until they told me their fancy machine had found cocaine residue all over my drivers liscense. Problem being, I've seen cocaine a handful of times, none within 5 years of that time, and never partook in it.
So they search my pickup, and find a shotgun shell under the seat, 2 3/4" 20 gauge, 7 1/2 shot, a typical birding round. So they draw down on me, and search me for the handgun i must be carrying, as i have a hunting round in my truck.
I answered their "where are you going" and other dumb questions, and then they started asking how many and what types of guns i owned, when i asked to speak to a representative of the US Ambassador to Canada.
So they broke the dogs loose, found nothing, and sent me on my way. Bad experience.
Funny thing, my friends sister and her husband had the exact same "Machine found Cocaine residue on your drivers liscense" story before they were hassled crossing the border.
One other complaint about the Atlanta airport. It is the only airport, the only one, that I have ever been through where you have to go through another security check after you have landed and ready to leave the airport. What do they think I am going to do hijack my taxi with the guns I bought on their plane??:furious3:shakehead: I have been to many airports all over the world, and I would classify it as the biggest pain in the :shaking2: I would rather go though Houston to get to TN.
Try traveling overseas....So you have never had to spend hours in endless lines?...hard to believe.
