These players will make up 98% of our 2015 class. Though it will take 12 months to solidify, this will be a pretty boring year to follow recruiting. I know a lot could change, but this will be the bulk of our class. If we sign 25, 14 of these guys will find homes elsewhere. We need to go heavy on the O-line. I think we will sign five. Number in parentheses is how many we take. I am only listing 23 due to numbers crunch for next year. If we can sign 25 that is even better. I think there will be only one more WR added, two more LBs added and two more OL added (assuming Richmond is already a part of this class). These positions, the coaches will be very picky with those final spots. Some players may not get a spot in this class, especially the Tenn boys who play LB. If we get DeBerry at LB (and Dews is at LB), that will leave not many spots? There is a possibility that we only take 4 OL, so that would give us one more spot. Here's hoping we can sign 25, because we could use the extra talent.
If you have an offer and you want to play for UT you better not wait. This train will load up quickly. This is a good problem to have.
Besides some natural attrition and I have not done the research, but if we can get some fifth year seniors to graduate in Dec, maybe we can sign 25.

I believe we will take 2 QB's.

I'll be surprised if we don't take 25. Many in the program have already been recruited over with the class of 2014 and will be finding a new home opening up spots.

JMO, but I think UT will sign 25, with 10 combined on the OL and DL. I could see the staff signing just 4 OL next year if more than one DL from the 2014 class are moved.

If Paulk makes good progress (and Hurd and Scott perform well), I have to wonder if more than one RB is added.

As others have mentioned, the QB recruitment should be fun to watch, especially if CBJ does go for two in this class (hopefully won't need to).

Slive has been on the record as saying "As long as Dooleys recruits are still on that roster they can sign however many the h## they want"

before the ink dries im on the plane to tx/nm and the phone saying 'youre my guy at qb!' 'be the linchpin of this class, and throw to preston williams'!

course, that line of reasoning is why im not a coach and not a millionaire.

I doubt we even have 20 the day before signing day, not because the coaches can't get them, but because they will be extremely selective. We have the depth, now. This class is all about adding the talent. I will say that I bet we're on about three or four televised announcements on signing day next year. It's good to be a Vol.

But then again, with how well they did with this class, we may already have everybody we want by signing day. So, who knows.

Has a school ever lost 12-15 players off their roster in a year? Those claiming we will take 25 in 2015 have to think about that a second. Tennessee would have to lose/drop over a dozen kids to take 25 in 2015. No way do I think it can happen. Negative recruiting would be insane if the coaches tried to do it.

Never know what will happen. I think the number will be about 20 though with an attrition of 7 players.

I would guess it will be hard to pull 7 DL next year... More like 5 IMO. Will need at least 4, probably 5 OL. I still don't see Butch only bringing in 2 WR.

My guess
QB-1
RB-1 maybe 2
OL-4
TE-1
WR-3

DE-3
DT-2
LB-3
DB-3
Total-21

I don't think that would work numbers wise. Before NSD we had 13 SRs shown for this season. IF Robertson, Dews, or any walk-ons get a scholarship between now and next NSD, you have to subtract 1 more for each case. 13-1(Robertson)=12. 12-1 for Dews=11. Durden? Horkey? Waites? Beck? Jumper? Maybe these guys never go on scholarship, but I'd bet at least Durden and Horkey will be looking for one in 2015. I honestly think it could be tough to take 15-16 in 2015.

I dont think they will put a long snapper on scholly. We will take twenty at least imo.

I understand people say "we will take". The problem is they have no idea how it can happen. Getting from 11 to 20+ is a huge undertaking IMO and will be crucified by other schools pointing it out to recruits that UT will drop you to make room for the next guy.

Anyone know how many kids "left" the program this year? Dallas, Posey, Smith, I'm sure there may be others. Losing 4-5 kids, I can buy. 9-10, I just don't see happening.

Or any of the other guys.. But he also thought Charlie High had a shot at QB though

When we took CH I said he would give it a go and if he did not think he would get a scholarship, he would move on. And that is what he did. IMO if Durden or Horkey are not put on scholarship for 2015, the same may happen with them. Of course losing them in 2015 just hurts depth as it would not open another scholarship up.

Are you talking about overall scholarship numbers?

85 scholarship kids on the Tennessee roster. There will be 13 SRs leave after this year. That makes 13 spots available for the 2015 recruiting class. Subtract 2 for sure for Dews and Robertson. That makes 11 spots to take new kids for the 2015 class. If a kid who is not a SR leaves the program over the next year, you can add 1 more. 2 leave, add 2 more and so on.

Unless I am looking at it all wrong.

How many will graduate or run out of eligibility after next season?
