Word is that Fulmer is going to potentially be spear heading the coaching search and that is truly cause for concern. I think that maybe some aspects of college football have passed him by... I'm afraid he would suggest hiring Les Miles who if you look at it had SOLID coordinators on both sides of the ball up until his last 2 years at LSU so I don't give Miles a ton of credit for what LSU accomplished. Phil would probably go for a safe/consistent 8-4 hire which I don't know that that's necessarily what we need. In that same breathe, I think that firing Currie might make some other coaches available to us as it appears that we're righting the ship BUT I'm sure we need to hire an AD before hiring a head coach. AD should be Blackburn.
Fulmer is orange thru and thru, even after being fired by ut he still supported them and attended the games when others would have not he is the very definition of vfl and you haters can't stand someone who is
Fulmer made very bad hires and was so fatally loyal to them that it not only led to his demise, but was the start of the problem that we are currently in. Putting Fulmer as AD is a catastrophic mistake.
Can we please admit that either Fulmer or Blackburn will work out well. BOTH LOVE UT and bleed orange. We need to fully support either of them for goodness sake. Either of them will bring stability back to the Hill.
I don't trust Fulmer to bring in a big time Head Coach. Currie was at least swinging for the fences at the very end.
Fulmer seems like a conservative guy that will look for something extremely underwhelming.
The sad part is that he will appeal to the fanbases emotions around supporting the university and getting things back on track and get them to support whoever he picks. 3-4 years later - we are right back here again.
