Best/Worst Neyland Experience

best: UGA 05(?). Kenny Rogers sang at half time... I vaguely remember singing Gambler with him. I was the life of my section.

worst: South Carolina last year... the rain made navigating the stairs in the nose bleeds difficult. I must have fallen at least 7 times. I was black and blue after that game hahaha

Your best experience was a loss and your worst was a win?

Best - Florida 1998. Nothing like storming the field and getting kissed by drunken strangers.

Worst - UGA 2001. Third and Chavis - late game edition.

Honorable mention best - Notre Dame 1999 and the POTSB playing a tribute to Southern Gospel at halftime.

Honorable mention best #2 - LSU 2001 when the entire crowd started chanting "U-S-A!", "U-S-A!"

Best: Florida '04, great game, happy for Wilhoit.
Worst: Florida '02, we came in with high expectations and by the end of that water logged game, I wanted to kill Mr. Clausen.

I don't think I've ever had a "bad" experience. I'm pissed when we lose, but still.

I even enjoyed that Marshall homecoming game where about 74 feet of rain fell.

Best was Alabama in 1982!
Worst was Oregon State in 1978....driving rain...and a 13-13 tie! Great comeback by Jimmy Streeter to get a tie...but that game sucked!

Best:
2004 - Florida
2006 - Cal
2007/2009 - Georgia

Worst:
2001 - Georgia
2002 - Florida
2009 - Ohio: Patti Page halftime show

best: Celebrating the National Championship after 98 season and the Florida game that year.

worst: Losing to Wyoming

Best - Florida '98
My first UT game I can remember. I was 10 years old and stormed the field and pulled up a few huge chunks of grass from the endzone.

Worst - Florida '02
Rain. Close game. FLorida scores. We fumble. Florida scores again. Then halftime aka the end of the game.

best: '98 vs fl. was tackled by buddies in YY8 after fl missed the field goal in o.t. the dog pile lasted for a few minutes. smoked stogies inside stadium. can't do that anymore.

worst: '94 vs fl. student at the time. had mono, but went to the game anyway thinking a victory would make me feel better. rain game...had a fever and had to rip off my poncho at halftime from the heat. left when we were down 24-0. took me an extra week to recover because of that outing. cried walking to the apt. girlfriend and i broke up earlier in the week. robbed the 13th street a&g on walk back because i didn't care anymore. sucker punched a 10-year old with a gator jersey. worst day of my life.

Best - Florida, 2004. Hands down. That was an amazing experience.

Worst - Georgia, 2003. Horrible. All of Clausen's turnovers were infuriating. Before the game, Lee Dungarees had passed out black winter hats to all the students as they walked in. When you threw them, they were just like frisbees. I'll never forget all the hats flying down onto the field while all the fans booed.

easy on Patti Page she was better than Linda at midnight back in '54. She really knew how to do the Tennessee Waltz if you know what I mean.

Best was Alabama in 1982!
Worst was Oregon State in 1978....driving rain...and a 13-13 tie! Great comeback by Jimmy Streeter to get a tie...but that game sucked!
That Oregon State game was a win but we missed the extra point after the last second miracle TD pass to an uncovered Jeff Moore.

cant remember the daggum year but my favorite was the year that Charlie Garner ran the long game winning TD against Alabama, loudest I ever heard the stadium as he was running and last year the GA game because we won, Crompton did great and most of all I took my Mamaw and my 2 girls, 8 & 5, and it was the first time for all 3.

Worst was the 2005 Ga game, my seats were 3 rows in front of the whole GA crowd. when they intercepted the pass they all started barking at us and one idiot ran down and got in the face of an older lady in a freakin WHEELCHAIR and cussing at her. then the screen pass for the TD and me being the big A-hole I am, spotted the guy and ran up to him in the middle of all the UGA fans and asked him how he like that and told him he needs to learn to shut his damn mouth or pick on somebody who can shut him up next time, ok I also started chanting "who put the dogs up", I know I know it is cheesy but everybody started saying it in the section with me, lol. THEN THE FREAKIN HOBNAIL BOOT. I just hung my head turned around and said congratulations and believe it or not they felt bad for us, saying that was an awful play call and we deserved the win. I then flipped the other guy off, which made me feel a little better.

Best experience:
2004 against Florida. The Wilhoit game winner.

Worst experience:
Forgetting the year...where it was pouring down rain and we were playing UF and we turned the ball over so many freakin times.

Best - Wyoming winning '08

Worst - Wyoming losing '99

But those were my only two times in Neyland :p So I've had fun half the time I have visited.

What the hell, Wyoming fan? Nice to see ya here haha.

How is your team going to do this season?

Yeah I lurk around here sometimes. I root for the Vols in the SEC.

I feel we finally have our program back on track with Dave Christensen. I worry about us having too much success and him getting hired away. But our schedule this year is tough. So another bowl game will be a difficult task. At Texas, TCU, & BYU. Plus Boise state at home is tough. Optimistic 7 wins

09/04/10 vs. Southern Utah
09/11/10 at Texas TV
09/18/10 vs. Boise State TV
09/25/10 vs. Air Force* TV
10/02/10 at Toledo TV (TRAP GAME)
10/09/10 at TCU* TV
10/16/10 vs. Utah* TV
10/23/10 at BYU* TV
10/30/10 vs. San Diego State* TV
11/06/10 at New Mexico* TV
11/13/10 at UNLV* TV
11/20/10 vs. Colorado State* TV

Best of luck this year man, with both of our schedules/rosters, God knows we will probably need a LOT of it haha.

Best: has to be the '04 Florida game. Wilhoit missed that extra point earlier in the game and I was ... mad. End of the game and I'm sitting up in the student section's nosebleeds. They punt and I'm watching the fans in the end zone. They started cheering and then the place went wild: hugging complete strangers and all that. I still have the scar on the back of my leg were I fell across the seats during the celebration.

Worst: '06 Air Force. We won, but that was a Pyrrhic victory: losing Harrell and Inky, that was awful. When Inky went down...
I'm shocked that the guys pulled out that stop on the two-point conversion at the end.

Best: When we win!
Worst: When we lose! I know its elementary but watching other fans in our stadium celebrate really hit a nerve! I love talking trash when we win though. Don't talk trash on away games, it can get costly physically and financially!
