On Nov 4th in the Tennessean David Climer posted Fulmer's best 5 and worst 5 games of his career. I wont go through the list but he was way off.

Best win was 2001 against Florida at the swamp 34-32. From a coaching perspective that was clearly his best game. Climer didnt even put it on the list.

An easy choice for worst win is Wyoming, but I think that the worst coaching decision in his career is the choice to squib kick the ball to Georgia in 2001 after a VERY late touchdown. It resulted in Randy McMichael catching the TD pass and leading to the famous Larry Munson Hobnailed boot call.

I absolutely hate the GA game at home where Clausen fumbled right before half and they returned it all the way. To me that game started the free fall.

How about losing to Memphis with Peyton Manning behind center? Best game, maybe going to Miami and ending their 34 game winning streak.

This year's loss against UCLA might not have been the worst loss but it sure was painful to lose that game. It really knocked the wind out of me.

Best-running all over UF in the Swamp in 2001.
Worst-Vandy 05 It was a bad year, but I thought UT would recover, win their bowl game, and finish 7-5, and hopefully get things on track the next year. The Vandy loss broke the streak and knocked UT from bowl contention.

Most fun win:
YouTube - California Heartbreak

Best win:
91 or 92 (whichever it was) comeback win at Notre Dame (might not be a Fulmer coached game but it's my favorite win)

Worst losses:
Vandy in 05 and the Memphis loss (only been one)

that game was bad, but we were already in bad shape.

Best game, the 1998 Arkansas fumble, that won TN the national championship.
Worst game, Wyoming, that cost him his job.

I'm with these

That Memphis game still makes me nauseous thinking about it...it was a totally unnecessary loss, a complete team break down in focus and intensity that with comparable talent would never happen under Saban or Meyer (Saban's loss to La Tech doesn't count as he was just starting with that team).

The Miami game was fun because it was so unexpected and the Vols played so tough. If the Vols could have shown that kind of toughness and resourcefulness more consistently Fulmer would still be the coach and would undoubtedly eventually break Neyland's win total.

Unfortunately Fulmer and his staff just didn't have it in them to pull that type of performance from their team on a more consistent basis. My sense was that things were allowed to just get too comfortable and then when pressed Fulmer and staff would snap them back for a big game or two.

Some of the best wins were the ND comeback--we were down by like 24 points in the first half; the bama game in which we broke their streak and killed them in alabama when Manning threw a TD pass on our first offensive possession (those were the days); the 2001 florida win was great, and so was the 98 florida win--lucky--that propelled us to the national title.

Worst losses. There were several humiliating losses to florida in the 1990s. They beat us in knoxville 35 - 0 one year; The florida losses in Manning's last two years were embarrassing--very hyped, national tv games and we suxed--as we almost always did against the gators under Fulmer. Florida cost Manning the Heisman trophy without a doubt. Florida was EASILY the biggest stain on Fulmer's career. They usually don't just beat us but kill us--and on those few occasions when we've beaten florida we were usually more fortunate than good. 2001 was the exception--one of the rare occasions when we went out and played very well and beat a good florida team. Spurrier and the gators also beat us in 1999 in gainesville--huge night game, electric atmosphere: Most talented UT team in 50 years--and we lost. Fulmer was clueless against our biggest rival.

The Georgia game, oh my. That was my freshman year @ UT, and that was my first away game. I won tickets through the school lottery system, and decided to go with a buddy of mine. Without a doubt, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I can honestly say that when I get enough money after I graduate, I'll be attending A LOT of away games, because nothing beats that satisfaction of winning in their stadium and the walk out. Not to mention, you meet some pretty cool people on the other side of the ball...just an overall good experience.
