Best system for a newbie?

The Wii u has Netflix and Amazon prime. I would just ask the oldest kid what he wants and get that. Between the xbone and ps4 either will do what you and your wife want. The two systems are very comparable.

:eek:hmy: Damn you're right! I stand corrected! Have they been available from the start? I've just never noticed them on the UI before. I see the You Tube app everytime I boot my system up but I never noticed Prime or Netflix! I'll ammend my original post.

Regardless, I still wouldn't recommend the Wii U as a primary console. Not enough 3rd party support and I question just how long Nintendo will continue to support this system considering how poorly it's selling.

Did they ever allow you to watch netflix on the gamepad? That would be sweet.

I agree with the sentiment of it not being a primary gaming system. Definitely want one though

With young kids I'd go wii U. It's got the best games to play as a family.

It's not like the other 2 platforms don't have kid friendly games. Just off the top of my head theres...

Rayman Legends
Little Big Planet 3
Minecraft
Lego the Movie
Marvel Super Heroes Lego
Skylanders
Disney Infinity
Knack
Zoo Tycoon

Plus you're forgetting about the tons of kid friendly indie games available for download. But yeah, Nintendo made games are hard to beat when it comes to complete family entertainment.

A lot of those are multiplatform except a couple and a computer from the stone age can run minecraft. It's just hard to beat the family fun that is the entire Mario franchise and smash bros.

pc master race. after that probably ps4/xb1 close. WiiU is more kid oriented imo but I still enjoy a few of the games now and then.
