1) Colin Cowherd
2) Overnight with Jason Smith
3) I miss Bob Bell & Bill King from the old WLAC days

let me just say that local sports talk in Houston sucks, the 4th largest city and it's horrid.

I love the Herd, but would gladly take Kornheiser back. I still miss him. Dan Patrick is at his best when Reggie Miller is on the line. Screw Keith "I am the most self important broadcaster in the world" Olbermann.

I like Mike and Mike and I am not a Rome fan. Knoxville-wise I don't really like Sportstalk, but I listen to Basilio.

KO quit being funny about 4 years ago...what sickens me is this man love he and Patrick share and ESPN radio seems to celebrate it

two local shows here in Charlotte are pretty good, and very entertaining.....the morning sports page and primetime with the packman.

the packman show really caters to the college footbal crowd during the season, though it is leaned heavily torward ACC coverage, but enough SEC people in and around the area (columbia, sc is in the listening area) that the SEC gets plenty, and it's not tied to just one team locally.....so that's cool.

the morning sports page is more local, panthers, bobcats and acc stuff, but is generally very entertaining.

both shows actually get great guests, and plenty of call ins.

i'll put it this way, i don't listen to any national shows anymore.

George Plaster in Nashville is pretty cool, but I have not been able to listen to him in awhile

I may be the only one, but I love Rome. As far as locally, I'm going with Basilio ... but overall, sportstalk in Knoxville is terrible -- especially the morning show with Mickey D.

I enjoy 104.5 the Zone in Nashville. Plaster does a great job (even though that show is anti-vol and pro-vandy).

Olbermann is atrocious. Besides his overall lack of knowledge of sports, history, and politics, he seems to regard himself as an expert in all fields.

Dan Patrick would be better if all of his unnecessary pauses were eliminated. I figure it'd turn his three-hour show into a 30-minute one.

Jim Rome is just bizarre.

Mike and Mike are decent for entertainment and they know their stuff to some extent.

Most local shows are just bad. In Columbus we get stuck with Chris Spielman. I've heard a few others while traveling who are ex-players and also seem to embody that whole "you didn't play at the level I did, so you can't question my opinion or anything that anyone does". Give me a break.

JT the Brick on Fox is a major tool. He seems to fancy himself as Rome-lite, except Rome occasionally has a clue. JT has none.

Colin Cowherd is an idiot, a blowhard, and a jackarse. Where to begin with him....I can start with him telling his audience to crash a website for no reason at all. I can continue with his love of USC (even though he's an Eastern Washington dropout). I can pursue it more with his typical media snobbery (loves to talk about "the clutch" to "prove" any idiotic viewpoint that isn't remotely true. For most in the media, "the clutch" is the ultimate trump card, far above "Well, my dad can beat up your dad!"). And I can finish with his appalling suggestions a couple years back that any intelligent terrorist would go after the following targets.

Totally agree with Rexvol. Basically Houston has three sports stations, and they are not very good.

I really don't care for much sports talk, though in bed i listen to WFAN out of New York, i have for years so i have developed a liking for the overnight guys....

I can listen to all the ESPN Radio guys except for Patrick/Olbermann, as a poster above said, Olbermann is absolutely terrible, i can't slog through listening to him for more than a minute without switching to NPR...Dan Patrick was good in his heydey, but now he tries way too hard to be witty, being witty and tounge in cheek is only funny when it's off the cuff, not forced or planned.

Jason Smith, well, i'm rarely up in his time slot, but he's decent, as are Cowherd and Eric Kusilias...though every so often they come out with stuff that is just plain stupid..once again, only listen to them when the radio is really dry as far as content on any given day
