Since this article brought it up, we might as well hash this out while we're waiting on spring drills to start.

Rocky Topics: Who is the greatest Tennessee running back ever?

We've had a lot of great backs, and the easy answer here is Lewis, but I'm calling it a tie between Jamal
and Chuck Webb. Both had injury shortened careers, god only knows what Lewis could have achieved in
98', but Webb's RS Freshman season in 89' flashed as much promise and talent as I've ever seen in Knoxville.

I was at that Pacific game and I still get sick at the stomach thinking about seeing Webb being dragged
down from behind. Even Majors said Webb was "one of the greatest of all time."

Now, Hurd needs less than 900 yards to pass Travis Henry... as a Junior, so I'm anxious to see what he
can do this season. Not ready to put him at #1 just yet.

A lot of great backs to chose from but my pick is Chuck Webb. He is my favorite rb!

It is hard to choose just one with all of the great backs we have had, but I would go with Webb.

I think the most under appreciated is probably Johnny Jones.

I'd have to say Chuck Webb & then Jamal Lewis a close 2nd. After that, there are so so many to choose from. Probably Travis Henry, Travis Stephens, Charlie Garner, Johnny Jones, Johnny Majors, & Little Man Stewart in no particular order.

Stephens was a favorite of mine as well. No one ran with as much pissed off aggression as him. If he was a bigger rb, he would've killed defenders.

Remember the long run he had against Florida the year we won the 1998 national title? He was running angry!

Most talented? Jamal Lewis. Would've loved to have seen his #'s if he had stayed healthy his entire UT career. My personal favorite? Travis Stephens. His grit and determination that 2001 season is something I will never forget. The best overall? Hard to argue with the Cheese.

Everybody in here forgetting Travis Henry, the leading rusher in school history. The kid couldn't be tackled.
