If your a race fan of any sorts you'll love TOCA Race Driver 3! You can race sprints, trucks, semis, stock cars, Champ Cars, IRL and about everything in between. Very cool game!

Best racing game of all time is still Gran Turismo. It's not a topic up for discussion.

But I will give that one a shot.

Gran Turismo is sweet but I honestly think TOCA beats it. Can't go wrong with either one however.

I've only played TOCA demos so far... I think Gran Turismo does what it does better, TOCA's strength is from the variety of styles. Agreed, can't go wrong either way. But you have to stop and consider what you're saying before you start tossing around terms like "Greatest racing game of all-time." :p

Glad to see you know which is better from only playing one of them. :wink2:

I'll never take a second to think about what I'm saying...takes to much time and I might disagree with myself...lol

I've always thought Gran Turismo sucked. Its not realistic. Sure you unlock craploads of craploads of cars and stuff, but theres no crashing. Its basically virtual bumper cars.

You know, not everybody races like it's NASCAR...

Agreed. Other than the lack of damage, GT is the most realistic driving sim out there. I haven't played TOCA, don't really need to (take that Dr. Rosenrosen :tease2: ), not much can touch Gran Tourismo, in my opinion. As far as it's degree of realism, everything other than damage is amazingly real. When you get into setting your suspension and drivetrain tweaks in GT to take advantage of upgrades, they perform just like they would in real life.

Read this in a magazine, so it HAS to be true - when Juan Pablo Montoya ran Laguna Seca the first time, he first spent a week practicing on GT, said it helped him nail the course. Can't wait to see the HD version for the PS3 - that game alone will make that the next gen console of choice for me.

I would have to say the need for speed games strictly because there more fun to play than the others. If I wanted to spend all day tweaking the suspension and gear ratios on a car, I would build a race car not play a game.

I've gotta look for that.

'Til then I'll stick with Ea's 2005 NASCAR game. You can race the modifieds, trucks and stockcars on there. I like the tuning on the car aspect, makes it more of a challenge than just picking up the sticks and already being the fastest.
