Vontaze Burfict needs to learn to control his emotions before he can be thrown into that realm. He's a physical beast with great speed, but those 15 yarders that he causes every game hinder him.

What the hell do his emotions have to him being one of the best defensive players in collegiate football? Being a hot head doesn't take away from the fact that he's a monster, and a future 1st rounder.

Right, so being a boneheaded idiot that consistently gives offenses yards doesn't matter.

In reference to talent? You're correct.

By your logic, Alex Ovechkin isn't one of the top two players in the NHL because he's consistently penalized for head hunting.

Look at the video. Especially the run against LSU. Looks like he's making people on a pretty good defense miss.

Like I said before, he and James are pretty similar. It would be amazing if you stopped drinking the kool-aid once in a while...

YouTube - Jeff Demps Highlights

What Kool-Aid am I drinking? The "LaMichael James is clearly better than Jeff Demps" Kool-Aid?

Giving up 15 yards on a 100 yard long field is giving up 15% of your allotted space in which to stop an offense. In hockey, penalties are 2 minutes long. (I think? I don't care about hockey.)

That's a completely irrelevant comparison. Burfict should also stop acting like he's hurt to slow our offense's tempo down. He must have learned that trick from a few certain Vols.

If "talent" was the sole recipe for being a great players, USC wouldn't have lost to Oregon by 4 touchdowns, no?

I wasn't aware USC was a great team last year. Obviously, this is news. They're highest rated defensive player, Taylor Mays, had his worst season as a Trojan and his draft stock plummeted.

As I said, by your logic, Alex Ovechkin isn't one of the top two players in the NHL because he allows his emotions get the best of him.

I find it ironic that you call one of the best college football players a track star and not a football player when his game/running style is extremely similar to the RB on your team.

It's incredibly funny that you say James makes guys miss, then outruns them and Demps clearly does the same damn thing.

That's the Kool-Aid I'm talking about.

I've never seen Demps square up Kurt Coleman and knock him on his ass.

Lol now you're using one play that James made last year. Demps isn't that far off from James this year in terms of rushing yards and their offensive line has been a train-wreck thus far.

Look I don't like the kid because he plays for the Gators but to say he's a track star who plays football is idiotic because he has skills.

Patrick Peterson at LSU has really impressed me. Denard Robinson is also pretty eye popping to watch but I want to see him go up against some top notch competition... I can't wait to see him go up against Ohio State.

As good as LMJ is and as much as I love the guy, I don't think he really rates as "best in the nation" right now. Probably the best back in the Pac-10 and we'll see how he does the rest of the season but he's not in the conversation IMHO right now. I hope I can change my mind in 8 games time...

Unfortunately, Demps doesn't have the luxury of playing in the Pac-10, or being a member of a team where he's clearly the most talented player(by far). However, he averages more than 7 YPC over his career, which is the most by any back since Percy Harvin.
